Any Suggestions for new Riding Footwear?

I'm an "All the Gear, All the Time" gal and I'm thinking it is time for a new pair of boots. My current pair I owned before making the switch to a Spyder, so I'm wondering if anyone has suggestions/recommendations of boots they love or hate.

I bought a pair of branded "motorcycle boots" when I took the MSF 3-Wheel Basic Rider Course.
The instructor noticed that I was struggling to walk in them, and showed me his boots.
They were a pair of ankle high hiking boots, which he said had a reinforced toe.

So I ended up at a sporting goods store shopping for hiking boots.
The ones I bought are a lot more comfortable, and yet meet the ATGATT requirements.
And I didn't need to take out a loan to pay for them.

I’m for lace up hiking or work boots, too. So much easier to walk in, as racoon said. Lots of times we ride to hike so I’m set to go. I’m very much enjoying a pair of Nike Manoas at the moment.

I like anything "Goretex" boots. I have found that 8" tall boots work well. The 6" boots often allow water to get to you as most rain suits don't cover enough that low down. My favorite as of now, Dainese waterproof with "Goretex".

I wear Georgia Boot Company boots with the carbon fiber not steel reinforced toe. I use over boot covers in the rain as they are waterproof to a point, but not hours in heavy rain waterproof.

They cover the ankle. You can walk all day in them, hike in them, and they last my son and I about five years of almost daily wear. We swear by them. I’m pretty sure they have ladies sizes too.

I’m not keen on motorcycle specific supposedly waterproof boots as they’re not brilliant for walking in off the bike. I’ve had any number of motorcycle boots and even the supposedly top of the line BMW ones still leak eventually.

On a Spyder the Georgia Boot Company stuff is generic enough to wear on and off the bike.
