• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

Armor all on tires - does it do anything

Using Armor All (or like product) on your tires, does it do anything beyond making them look shiny? Thanks in advance.
Jim

I don't know if Armorall has changed it's formulation, but it used to cause premature checking of tires. It was also notorious for causing padded dash boards to crack. Meguiar's rubber and vinyl treatment (#40) always worked better for me. YMMV

What everyone else said. Armor All (and it's kin) are worthless unless you're only using it once in a great while for a car/bike show. Use it on a regular basis, especially on your tires and you can expect to buy new tires sooner rather than later. Plus, if you happen to get any on the tire contact surface (or on your seat or grips), you're now dangerous.

Back in the 60s and 70s when vinyl roofs were popular, it was easy to spot the ones that had been (mis)treated with Armor All.

I use 303 on my show bike tires (tread and all - it's a show after all!) and it doesn't make them "shiny", just clean and black.

303 vinyl/rubber protectant. For shiny surfaces I use RejeX. It is superior and longer lasting than wax..... Jim
