• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

Bob Ross...a bit of history

Thank you, thank you for the video. :firstplace:

I watched his show on PBS faithfully for about a year. He gave me the bug to try painting.

I bought the stuff, have painted a couple hundred pictures. Mostly his stuff at first, then developing a bit of my own style, while keeping the "wet on wet" technique.

Sold a few too. Not afraid to mention this was the Bob Ross technique and done by me.

A few on here that have visited, saw some of the paintings when they were at my home in AK.

I am now a bit re-inspired to take it up again. There is some beautiful stuff in our new surroundings.

Thanks for the video. This resurrected a lot of personal memories for me. My father was a painter and sign designer. In retirement, he took up landscape painting and I believe Bob Ross was an inspiration. He painted several dozen landscapes. A few were sold but most remain in our family. Here are a couple pieces of his work that hang in my home today..... Jim
