• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

Cheap vs expensive cameras

Well - I use a $30 camera to capture video of my riding. I used to use my Canon point-&-shoot, but this takes reasonable HD video, and doesn't put my good camera at risk. You are welcome to go and spend $100 ++ on a dedicated camera, that doesn't provide any better video (IMHO), or try one of these: http://www.ebay.com/itm/8GB-1280x96...794?pt=LH_DefaultDomain_0&hash=item3f0e13e252

Note the 720p versions are now available for under $5… here's a sample (from before I figured out how to reset the date), mounted on a 1 inch square of velcro on the top of my (RT) mirror.

WOW !!! The picture is amazing and I'm going out right now and get one. :joke:

You must click public, or unlisted when you upload it or we will not be able to see it.

Well I saw it and I salute you! :2thumbs:
Cheap cameras don't make you feel as bad when you drop them to their ultimate demise...

 That's pretty darn good for a $30 camera! I still like my Drift though. It seems to take out some the shake in the camera, and the handlebar mount fits perfectly on not only the handlebars--but on rear hand grips on the RS and on the rear foot pegs as well. And the video is smooth as silk.

At any rate--great find. Can't beat that price!!

Audio??

The ebay listing show a microphone but your video seems to have no sound. Is this intentional or are you still learning how to use all the features? It is a pretty neat device. I've seen a video camera built into a $40 wrist watch too. Everybody's watching us all the time!!

Tiger Direct ...

... just announced a sale on the Contour 1300, 1080p full HD hands-free for $99.99. I'm not affiliated with them except as a happy purchaser.

I turned the mic off - sitting on the mirror, I thought the wind noise wouldn't be useful…..

Even at $99, I don't see the value of a Contour - just me. Plus, you have to buy the mounts and other things needed to use it - plus find a place to mount it. With these cameras, you can buy one for everyone in your riding group, and still have beer money left… or, like me, you can buy one and use the money to pay for 20 gallons of gas...

I'm an avid photographer, but riding videos tend to lose attraction after a bit - Having said that, it's nice to watch the vids during the winter down time...
