• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

Clanking Sound

New issue with my bike, no error codes or warning lights by the way. When shifting up no issues, when shifting down no issues, but when I release the throttle I heard a loud clanking sound in the front. As soon as I accelerate, the noise is gone, only when I am in coast mode between down shifting and lowering my speed. I checked the oil level and it is perfect. Any ideas, I will have to make an appt with the dealer.

:agree: What is changing when you coast?
Have you checked the tightness of the Anti-Swaybar mounting points?
(Hint: with the bike off, compress the front suspension, and see if you hear the noise...)

Tough one...

gotta get in there and start checking . Not a lot to go on , like one time clank or repeated till you trottle up etc. But if your under warranty get it over to them and have them check it out...

The noise only comes when riding, not when the bike is park. It does the clanking noise all the times, when letting the throttle go . No issues when I shift up or down, but is only when I let the throttle go then the bag of nickels starts. I checked the sway bar and it is fine. Yes I took the bike yesterday to the dealer and now I need to wait.

Based on what recently happened to another member here, I'd check the front sprocket bolt. Oh, it's already at the dealer. Guess we wait.

So you're on the throttle, and the drivetrain is under load...
Roll off, and that load is gone. The suspension may rebound a little bit in the rear... If you had a loose mounting plate for the engine: that could move around a bit...
Or it could just be a "tight clearance" between two parts, that closes up as the drivetrain load is reduced.

If you rolled the throttle back slowly; did it still do it?
Or does it require a "chopping" of the throttle?

When I roll off and the load is gone, the clanking sound comes up, as soon as I throttle up, sounds go away. If I rolled the throttle slowly, no sound, only when the load is gone. Tks.

i have had that noise every since i had mine. only under acceleration in
the upper gears. almost think its clutch system related. its not a loud
noise ,but i hear it with my helmet on. cant wait to see what they say.
almost like pinging but not. --irv
