There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. Has anyone repalced their RT seat with a Corbin seat? Is there that much of a difference? More comfort?

I replaced my stock RT seat with the Corbin seat, trunkrest, and driver backrest. I got the Lamonster Cut (old style tractor seat). It sits you back an extra inch and a little deeper into the seat. I could only ride for about an hour on the stock seat before it became too uncortable for me. It was just too soft. With the Corbin I can ride for several hours, but on longer rides I use an AirHawk. I really like the gas door. It makes fuel ups simple. However, before you dive in you may want to sit on one first. It is more firm that stock so you may not like it.

I have a brand new one with heat and drivers backrest for sale $700 with the matching passenger backrest. Black with black stitching in the web pattern. PM me if interested I can send pics.

Pretty much the same comments as Vrider above. Have a corbin on my RTS. Over 28,000 miles on it. It is hard but gives good support and I can drive all day on it. Also use a sheepskin seat pad or an AirHawk sometimes--but not always.

I have the backrest which I use all the time. I also like the ease of gassing the RT up because of the fuel cap door.

I'm interested and PMed you. Wondered if the driver's position is the same as the RT, or moves the driver back?

Having won a $300 corbin gift certificate at SITR, I headed home through Hollister and got a corbin seat.
The stock one I liked for short trips. but it did get quite uncomfortable after a while in the saddle. Before I got the seat I wasn't sure about them. I found them hard and slippery. neither of which I liked. But the factory guys said they could find some leather that was more grainy to help prevent the slipperiness. If you are buying blind go with the Lamonster cut. but you'll be much better off if you can make it down to the factory so they can shape it for you, let you choose what leather type and color you want, and choose what stitching you want (I'm not a fan of the popular sider web pattern); which is what I did. On the 500 mile ride home, I found the seat hard, but the discomfort didn't get worse, as the stock seat did, and I understood it take a while for the seat to break in and for you to get used to it. I now have around 1500 miles on my new saddle, and my seat is starting to really break in and feel comfortable most all the time, and I'm really liking it.

customer service CORBIN SEATS bad

We bought the passenger armrests right after we got our 2012 RT a&c in May this year, and before we got back from the BMWRA rally in Copper Mountain Co, we noticed the piping is coming apart and the fabric split on the drivers side arm rest. I called Corbin and emailed them back and forth they said talk to the dealer I got it from, I did they said Corbin told them I better wait till riding season is over because it's liable to take awhile. Wife doesn't feel comfortable riding without it, she's used to teh sidecar is why I got them to begin with. I had my dealer send the defective one back almost a month ago, still no word about it. tried calling corbin 3 times today put on hold hung up on twice, bottom line is Corbins CUSTOMER SERVICE SUCKS! I think I'm just gonna send the left one back and request a refund. I'll never deal with a company that thinks I spend over $350 (with installation) for a defective product that allows them to waste my time. :banghead:

Though I like my seat, I do have to agree their customer service isn't that great. When I had my seat installed I paid to have them send my old seat back to me. we're a month in and I still havent seen it, though after a few phone calls I've confirmed they still have it. I'm in no real rush to get it, but it really should have been here by now.

I've had the the Corbin RT on my '10 RT-S for over 17 months. Great investment. The stock seat is just that: A seat. The Corbin, however, is orthopedically correct. I have the 'SilverSurfer cut' ... meaning, I sent them my height, weight, inseam, and even measured around my butt. It supports you, instead of the soft, mushy stock seat with the bolster that always had me a bit too far forward. In addition, I most value the back rest, which for some weird reason, BRP has not seen fit to make an integral component of even the upgraded 'comfort seat' on the '11s and '12s; and also the fuel door. I travel with a tour bag and it's bliss to not have to off-load the tour bag [and raise the seat] for fueling. As with any seat, however, the Corbin is not bullet proof to distance riding. You can ride a lot further in one sitting on a Corbin by itself, but I still begin to get a bit numb in the rump at about 300 miles. I've tried an Alaska Sheep skin ... well, it gives the Corbin a 'carpeted' feeling, but that's about it. Next, I got a Butt Buffer ... a little better, but naahhh. Alas the cure: Airhawk -- the panacea for high mileage numb bum and monkey butt.

The Corbin does require care. About every eight weeks, I clean and dress the leather with a good leather cleaner and conditioner.

Airhawk

Why

Should one need an air hawk with a custom seat? Think I'll opt for a Russell day long,or an ultimate.

I've heard alot about all of the seats and am still sitting on the fence in regards to one in particular. But with all the remarks about Corbins customer service it sways me away from them and onto another vendors product. It's all about customer service to me and if it's bad no matter how good the product looks and is, I will take my business elsewhere!

The ultimate also has the gas door and backrest. I'm looking into them. Good luck!

I ended up getting my stock seat shortly after my previous post in this thread. I'll say the quality on my seat sure seems top notch though. Was just admiring the craftsmanship last night. I will say the downside is it takes time to get used to and to break in. Until then it will feel quite hard. After that, still hard, but comfortable.

Over 20,000 mi. with my Corbin seat...still not broke in, evidently! Hard as a rock and creates burning on inside of upper legs.

I bought a Corbin seat from a RT owner at Lamonsters BBQ.It was the afternoon of the 2nd day.We have stayed over in the Smokies and did a couple of short rides on the seat until today.I was on the bike for approx 6 hours riding the twisties including the Dragon. The seat is fantastic .Arrived back feeling great.
I started lookin at the Corbin's at the BBQ.A lot of folk had them and I sat on 4 different RtS with the Corbin seat.I am so far delighted and well pleased I bought it.:2thumbs:

I have to stand up for corbin customer service for a minute. I have a 2010 RS and instaaled a corbin seat and backrest on my spyder about 5 months ago with the spyder web stiching. I noticed a couple of weeks ago that the stitching is starting to come out. I called them and they said that they would definitely waarnaty it and that the wait right now would be about 3 or 4 weeks but if I wanted to just hold onto it until winter got here that would be fine and the turn arou nd time would be a lot shorter, so I am going to do that.

I have had the Corbin seat with the Lamonster cut since this spring. The factory seat was torture for my sit bones. No more pain with the Corbin. After a 5 day trip to Montana I was comfortable the whole time. Also the gas door is a big plus.
