• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

Day Seventeen Cheyenne to Alaska and return

Left Wasilla after making a few stops to pick up supplies for the wives and gasing up. Arrived in downtown Anchorage around noon and decided it was too nice to sit around the hotel waiting for the wives to show up so after checking in we were on the road again. Back down the Seward highway this time heading for the Port of Whitter. Guess what happened? 30 miles out of town it started to rain(so much for the nice day) well we stopped and donned our rain gear and kept on trucking. Arrived at the tunnel going through the mountain to Whitter and had to wait for all the other traffic to go in front of us then they let us through after giving us a brochure that explained how to ride your bike through the tunnel. The tunnel is 2.5 miles long and designed for trains ergo there are two rails that run right down the middle. Seems as though they have had several bikers go down when their wheels got caught in the rail grooves. It was kinda interesting since you are riding between the rails on steel diamond plating and its wet. Russ on his wing stayed right in the middle and at 25 -30 mph had no problem; I didn't have a major problem but with three wheels and two behind on the trailer I was always hitting a groove but we made it. When you got out of the tunnel you were basically in Whitter, lots of boats a cruise ship berth waiting for the next ship to come in, a couple of abandoned military buildings and a whole bunch of mom and pop diners and cafes. We stopped at the Swift WaterSeafood Cafe for some Halibut and Shrimp with fries for a late lunch and once again we hit the jackpot, they were great. I think Russ and I are eating our way through Alaska. Then it was back to the tunnel where we again had to wait until all the other traffic, trucks, busses, cars, etc were through then they let us go; the only bad part of waiting was the mosquittos decided we were their lunch. Had an uneventful trip back to Anchorage and the hotel, now we wait on the ladies, not due in until 1:34 AM. Once again today we had several bikers, tourists, and general public surround the Spyder with their questions, fun talking to them but you have to break away after awhile if you want to get anywhere.
