A few of us are heading to Beatty NV April 3,4,5 and checking out the DV park. Staying at the Motel6. Going to check out Scotty's Castle, Furnace Creek, Badwater, DV Junction, Zabrinski Point, The Sand Dunes, Stovepipe etc.

Leaving Thursday to get to Topaz lake just south of Minden/Gardnerville then to Beatty and that where we get to have fun.

Hope the weather is good. Added April 5 - the weather was good but cooler than would've liked. We did 1155

Weather was good today, 70's. My wife and I took the Old Spanish Trail Highway from NV160 over to Tecopa and up 127 through Shoshone to Amargosa Valley NV. If you get that far south check out the Longstreet Inn and Casino on 373 in NV.

Great Trip.

Did that trip a few years ago on two wheels. You are giving me the itch to do it again only on 3 wheels this time. Great trip from Southern Utah. Enjoy and have fun.

Always looking for a new good ride.

How long did that trip take you. Sounds like a good one. I would have to start it in St. George though.

7 hours we stopped for gas a couple times and had lunch at the Area 51 Travel Center in Amargosa Valley NV but checked out the Longstreet place on the way back. Then we took Stateline Road from Death Valley Junction over to Pahrump and 160 back to North Vegas via Red Rock Canyon.

We're coming from California and, most likely going through Panamint Springs on the way home. I've been "woken up" a few times by jet fighters blasting overhead. Lot's of fun and hwy 178 is one twisty canyon road to/from Bakersfield.

On the way down, we might go pass Goldfield and the Haunted Hotel. It would be nice to see a few Spyders.

Sounds like a great trip. Done it many times but only in a car. It's a pretty good climb up to the valley overlook at Dante's View, but well worth it on a clear day.
Hope all goes well.

Have a great trip! Weather is supposed to be nice and be sure to let us know if the flowers have begun to bloom yet. The LA Times had an article a few weeks back that DV may have a "super bloom" this year because of the late rains.

i wouldnt go much past April, its called Death Valley for a reason lol. I think they have the highest "recorded" temp ever. Plus with all the heat the spyders pump id be scared lol. I bet it will be a great trip and hope you have fun.

What group

What group you planning the ride for? They allow tag-a-longs? I know some are pretty particular about that sort of thing so no feeling hurt if they don't.

My wife and I were pre-running a trip for our riding group so we were taking our time and that was the time from our house in N Las Vegas.

Late bloom

Rode my 2 wheeler there a few years ago in the spring but missed the bloom. When are they predicting it this year. May want to give it another try.

Anyone is welcome to show up in Beatty. We're going to try and visit Scotty's Castle on the way down Friday. Then check out the dunes, Furnace creek, Artist's Pallet etc. It would be nice to see other Spyders.

Got it

I get monthly e-mails on your group's rides. Just always been a bad time to try to meet up with all of you. Will have to make it down for a ride one month. Ann did my laser alignment so I do know her also. Thanks for the information.

What route are you taking from Topaz lake?
I live in Bridgeport 1/2 block off Hwy 395
Might join you if I can make it

Thinking of crossing over to 95 via 168/266. Hope that's a good road. Want to check out Scotty's Castle before getting into Beatty.

Thanks for posting. You folks are getting my juices flowing to ride, ride, ride again. Next week we are supposed to be up in the 30's again. Hoping the ice will melt from my driveway.

You have some beautiful country to ride there. Great temps this time of year for the desert, and no tourists yet to worry about. It just does not get much better. :2thumbs::2thumbs:
