• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

Downshifting SE5 with trailer

Whilst I do not think there should be any issue, just wanted to check. SpyderFest was the longest road trip for us with the Bunkhouse Queen in tow. Whenever possible, I down shifted to let the engine do most of the 'braking'. While I cannot think of a downside, I just wanted to bounce this off the gurus before engraining this process.

Is this an acceptable practice with the SE5 in trailer mode?

If you put the SE5 in trailer mode, it does downshift automatically sooner by itself

IMG_20110426_172812-1.jpgBut :agree: we also downshift for the engine braking benifit that it provides to help save the brake pads a little:clap: especially with the added extra weight of the trailer or in our case, a phat-azz camper ;)

Thanks guys;

That is kinda where I am at. Knew that the 'trailer mode' changed the shift pattern, both up and down. Found I was forcing the down earlier than the 'trailer mode' just to slow down more for lights and stops (engine braking). Wanted to check in. Sounds like I'm OK.

Tks

BTW, Dave how ya doin'? Missed you at SpyderFest. Sposedly, we would have been camp site neighbors at LadyBug. Was lookin' forward to spoilin' Teddy. :roflblack:
