Drop-Tail Trailer Pictures and Impressions

Does anyone have pictures of their Spyder on a Drop-Tail Trailer ? I have read some of the threads about Drop-Tail's and they seem to be pretty well received. Any experiences to share ? Just bought my RTL last fall and I'm also looking for East Coast Events or local riders.

Sorry I do not have any pics with me (traveling for work) but I have a drop tail and I really like it. It is made very well. I have Diamond R floor boards and the cross member slightly hits when loading depending on the angle. I simply installed bump stops on the gate and eliminated that issue.

I had a "Drop Tail" trailer and was very happy with it, it pulled easy, loading and unloading was easy, and the fact that it folded up so it could be put away was very nice.

Sorry no photos

Bump Stops on the gate ? Would love to see a picture when you get a chance, thanks

I have a 2014 RT Limited and use a trailer I bought from Northern Tool. It is 5.5 feet wide and 10' long with a drop tail gate for loading and the nose of my Spyder DOES NOT hit the tailgate when loading. bolted some front wheel chocks into the floor, strap the Spyder down and away we go!! No problems whatsoever! Just an FYI

Hey Big F, thanks. I looked on their site and didn't see one with those dimensions. Do you know who the Manufacturer is or what the model number is ?

the physical trailer is in a storage bldg. but I have the registration in my hands. the make is Carry-on - VIN# 4YMUL1013EMO14379 - called a utility trailer. It costs me a whole $27.50 to register for one years here? that's all the info I have.

I went to the Carry-On site and they have several 5 1/2' wide trailers - like 8, 9, 10 & 12. I see Tractor Supply carrys the same brand. didn't know they had a 9' long one which is probably long enough. Hope you have plenty of info now??? Happy and safe riding to ya!

Boats

Trailer are for boats or broken spyders.........I am having issues with my trailer gate as it is to sharp an angle so the Spyder bottoms out when loading or unloading. Am having the gate changed out. I can post pics when it gets done if anyone wants to see them.

I have a Drop tail and used it . Never had the nose of the spyder touch, but did drag the center frame if the Spyder rear shock had leaked air out. (had a problem with that). the little mesh thing at the back of the drop will stand straight up if you have a trailer hitch, but there are hole to let it lay back a little. Pulls and handles great, even with a Dokada (sp) truck.
I had a big 7x 16 landscape trailer from Tractor supply, worked great for the Spyder and other things, but it was heavy, 2 inch wood flooring.I bought the Drop tail so I could move it by myself at my age
Good luck in your choice

Thanks Oldmanzues. I appreciate the input as dealers don't stock them around here and my only choice is to order one on-line sight un-seen (other than pictures)

Another Option, Stealth All Aluminum 6 x 12, Tight fit side to side, but it works. Keeps the Spyder out of the salt when traveling to Florida for great winter riding. :ohyea: No issues with the ramp
