Dyna Beads in the Spyder?

The below e-mail string is from Dyna Beads company. They say dyna beads will work in Spyder and recommend 2oz in front and 2oz in rear. Anyone have any experience using dyna beads. I've used them for years in my two-wheel motorcycles but I am hesitant to put them in the Spyder?? Any advice?

Thanks
ED

Question: I have a 2014 Can Am Spyder RT. Will dyna beads work
for this vehicle? If so, how much in each tire.

==================================

When I put a car tire on the rear of my 2012 Spyder the tire dealer said he could mount it with no problem, which he did but could not balance it. I asked him if know about Dyna Beads. He said he did and had used them. We then proceeded to balance the tire with them.It has now been 5000 mi,the tire rides smoothly and there is no visible sign of wear.

I just put balancing beads (another brand) in my 3 new tires on my Spyder. I ordered the kit for the Spyder and it was 2 oz each in the front and 3 oz in the rear. I'm hoping they'll help keep the from tires from cupping like the OEM tires did.

I also had a tire shop say they'd mount the tires but couldn't balance then because the wheels were too small for their machine.

I use counteract beads which I'm sure are similar. 2oz in each front and 3oz in the rear. I just put the beads in the front because I had a small shimmy after having them conventionally balanced and had the beads left over from the kit I bought to do the rear. 14,000miles on the rear tire with no problems.

so..........for those that use them in the front wheels........did you remove the weights ????

If you have the tire replaced yes as the existing weights will have no correlation to a new tire. They were put there to balance the old tire.

Beads

With rear tire change to Kuhmo I used 3 oz. of beads and did not remove factory weights. Ran just fine.

I've used dyna beads in the front and rears of an Ultra Classic, a Goldwing, an FJR 1300, and now the rear of a Spyder.

Never had an issue with balance......and I remove the factory weights. Those weights are added to balance a wheel/tire combination....you changed that combination when you took the existing tire off.

Yup! They are useless and ugly! I remove them like I would remove a pimple from my face. Let the DynaBeads or Ride-On do their job and your tires will love you.

1960

back in the late 1960's i used 80 grit aluminum oxide... 1 good size hand-full per wheel....
for those of you that are unaware of 80 grit alum-oxide.... it's used for grit blasting dirty, rusty, paint covered metal parts, aka: sand blasting.... i didn't have the $ to pay for mounting and balancing, so i mounted my own tires, and figured (back then) that the grit beads would find there way to the lighter portion of the tire... and in 30 yrs, i never had a balance issue... and my rims were nice and smooth.....
some guys i knew would use BB's... but those were too expensive for me, and i used those in my BB gun....

I've only had my F3 a couple weeks but on my to-do list was remove factory weights ( don't trust them) and add beads, already found belt loose and out of alignment and that's just for starters will check front end soon although it seems ok, Thanks for the Reminder

Yes, I use CounterAct Balance Beads. 2oz front, 3oz rear and 2oz for the Rt-622 trailer tires. Remove any existing weights. They work great!

OK, I'll ask the obvious dumb question: Do you have to remove the wheel from the bike and pop the bead to add the beads, or can you trickle them in through the valve stem with the core removed?

Same question for Ride-on.

Same question for Ride-on.

You deflate the tire while it's sitting on the ground (no need to lift), and pour the product into the valve stem, then re-inflate the tire. You'll want the valve stem to be in the 5 or 7 O'clock position to make it go in easier, thus it's best to do one tire at a time so you can move the bike to line up the stem on the next tire.

This is how I have always done it with Ride-on, and can only assume its the same with Dyna Beads.

Most tire installers will add the product for you while mounting the tire, which makes it even easier.

Will continue to use

I had the weights removed. Getting better life from the OEM fronts then ever before. So I'm a believer

CounterAct & Dyno Beads provide a small plastic bottle and plastic tube. Remove the valve stem, deflating the tire, put the beads in the bottle, slide the tube connected to the bottle of beads, tip bottle to pour beads thru the valve into each tire. Tapping the bottle or using a vibrator on the bottle helps the beads flow into the tire. Remove empty bottle, install valve stem, inflate tire, ride.
Each time you ride the beads will position themselves to balance the entire spinning wheel/tire assembly.
Enjoy!
