• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

Engine Fault

OK guys and girls I need some help please,
The story;
Riding along with no issues, went over a speed ramp and then soon after my dash started to light up like a Christmas tree.Engine limp mode flashed up, engine light flashed up and stayed on, centre light turned orange with the handle bars "orange" flashing on/off and the vehicle traction light came on and stayed on, Now correct me if i'm wrong but I take it this light is the one that shows the bike with squiggly lines around it in orange.
So Limped back home and turned the bike off, Did a bit of an oil check, topped up,and switched on. All lights now gone,,,,,,,,Is this the Norm or will the faults be stored,,,if so how do i reset the fault log,,
Cheers,:(

Sounds like you upset nanny. As long as the speed bump did no damage. You should be good to go. I'd give things a lookover tho. That said, only you know how hard the impact was. Good luck.

I know if that back tire spins, either on slick surface or because it bounced in the air the nanny will kick out all kinds of codes and orange screens. Key cycle will reset everything and all should be good but as mentioned above be sure to look for any damage. Potholes will also cause this.....

Just as a reference for further posts, what are your roads like for speed ramps on the other side of the pond? We have these ramps everywhere and the amount of damage they do to car springs is huge,.

The only speed bumps (ramps) I encounter are in mall parking lots, with the exception of a couple in front of the local 'Cop Shop' police department.

Hope all goes well for you. Be safe over there! :thumbup: :doorag:

Thanks for the help, filled up with super unleaded and no fault lights on so it looks like the bump did the damaged to the nervous system of the bike. This forum is so important to me, it's great to get the help of the people who use it. Service centres are few and far between in the UK so the knowledge of the Many really do help the needs of the few.:thumbup::cheers: Thanks.

Our speed ramps are everywhere, I went though a small village and counted 15 ramps, If I get a chance I'll take a pic to show you just what we are up against here in the UK.

Yup! There are times when the nanny gets angry over trivial things. Many of us have had the "scare of the orange screen," and lived to tell about it. The situation usually happens when something out of "normal" happens.

My first defense has always been to pull over, shut the :spyder2: off, pull the key out, and take a little stroll. Most of the time, the rekey and restart are all that is needed to make the :ani29: happy again. The procedure resets "whatever."
