Fuse Cap Part Number?

MidLifeCrisis

New member
Hi all,

I just discovered the fuse cap on my RT doesn't lock into place anymore. Both tabs are attached, but for some reason, one fails to lock. I'm concerned water could seep through and cause issues. Anyone know what the part number for this item may be. It's the rectangular one under the top cap in the frunk. Also, I'm sure if I bend the tab back a bit, it'll likely lock, but I run the risk of breaking the tab and I'll be in trouble for sure. Anyone else had this issue and corrected?

Thanks,

Here ya go, In stock & ready to order from BRP parts dept.

Thanks Cyncy. That's the part number I found as well, but it's for the first cap you remove inside the frunk. The one I'm trying to locate is the one under it and sealing the fuses and has a sticker on it labeling each fuse and relay. There just may be a part number on the under side, but it took me so long to get my to lock that I'm afraid it won't lock again if I pull it off. I have a repair manual and parts list and it shows the cap, but it's the only item on the list that has no associated number, as if someone forgot to draw an arrow to it with a reference number. Can't find it on the electrical diagram either. I just may have to go to the dealer and remove one from one of their RTs and take it up to the parts counter, but they are a pretty good didstance away. I can attach a photo of the cap when I get home. That may help clarify this post.

My spyder had a twist in the rubber gasket seal at the back of the fuse box and it did allow water in. Most of my fuses and relays were a rusty mess. They all worked and we found this when troubleshooting another issue. If your Spyder is still under warranty I would try to get this covered under it.

I'll take a look at Teds when I get off work today & see if its got a # on it- sorry

You 'sound' good. Are you fully back from surgical recovery and the office closing?

Go back into the parts list. Pull up the Frame Harness. Now scroll down the part number list until you see FB, all parts associated with the Fuse Box are located here. Now scroll down some more and you will find Fuse Cover (part number 71001026) and below it is the decal for inside the cover.

Doc

Thanks Doc. there's a 0 missing so it's 710001026, but that is what I was looking for. Much appreciated.
