Interesting story behind this one. Ordered the tire from Discount Tire, going directly to the store. I call after a week to see if it came in. Dude says no, so I tell him I will just pick it up when it arrives. He asks, no installation? I say no. He says no problem, he will call me when it comes in. Calls me back 2 minutes later asking what vehicle it goes on? I say a 2010 Chevy Cobalt, since that shows up on their website as a fit for the tire. He asks me if they are stock rims or aftermarket? I say aftermarket. He asks what is the width of the rim? I tell him I don't have a clue, is there a problem? He days the tire won't fit and he can't sell it to me. Typical stuff everyone else has gone through on Spyderlovers.
So I go on EBAY and order the same tire, from Discount Tire Direct. I'm waiting on the email back asking what car it is for. Get the order confirmation, no questions yet. 2 days later the tire is sitting on my carport.
So now I get to go to Honda of Winston-Salem Saturday morning to get the tire put on, and an oil change. I'm bringing my own oil and a set of Gold Plugs for them to replace the stripped out drain plugs with, that I discovered when I changed my oil a couple of months ago. At least if I can find time. Working 6 or 7 days a week, 13 or 14 hours a day on night shift, doesn't leave much time for riding, let alone sitting at a dealership. Whenever I get it done, I won't be getting any sleep that day before going in to work that night. It will be worth it to get that stripped out middle OEM rear tire off. Rode the Devils Whip and Diamondback on Labor Day and was sliding sideways all over the turns
By the way, I got 12,000 miles out of the rear tire, but the middle has been gone for the past couple of thousand miles. I will update how the ride is once I get the tire on and drive it for awhile.
