My wife and I had previously installed a Blue Sea Dual USB Charger (http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B0082CXEI8/ref=oh_details_o01_s00_i00?ie=UTF8&psc=1) but it wasn't really a visually appealing setup since the charger isn't a 52mm gauge size. I came across JT's Spyder accessories site and noticed he created a mounting piece for the charger that looks factory installed.
The kit included the black, powder-coated mounting ring that's metal and not plastic(!) and the 2 screws necessary to mount the usb charger into the existing mounting bracket on the backside of the dash for the factory gauges. My wife loves tweaking the Spyder so I gave her the instructions and lent her my hands for extra help. It was a completely painless project. Within 15 minutes she had it installed and ready to go. The dash adapter is really top-notch and feels nice and solid/weighty. The directions were detailed and contained pics to boot. We couldn't be happier with how this project turned out compared to our original installation.
So, for people who don't have access to a machine shop but want to install this power adapter to keep their phone/GPS/USB device charged and running, this is by far the best solution. Here's the link to the adapter I used: http://gnipsel.com/spyderstore/index...tegory&path=20.
Here's a pic of it installed on our '12 RT-S. Forgive the fingerprints.
