• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

Gremlin/Guardian Bell

My best friend who is a HD rider, for my birthday gave me a Guardian bell. I thought it was a pretty special gift. I was just wondering how many of you have the Guardian bell and if so where did you hang it on your Spyder?

Glad to hear that a thoughtful friend got you one! :2thumbs: Now's the time to pay it forward; buy a bell for a friend! Ryding season is coming soon!

Lol.. I don't own one...just can't endorse such hocus pocus but I suppose it keeps the bell makers employed. lol Still nice thought from a friend.

I have a guardian bell. A member of the Indiana Patriot Guard gave it to me when I joined. I have mine mounted on the hardware in front of the left footpeg on the RS, but you can put them anywhere.

My girlfriend gave me a bell from Tail of the Dragon store in Deals Gap. It hangs off of my brake peddle using a split key ring. I see it every time I mount up and am reminded to be careful.

A lot of us use the guardian bell. I have one on the Spyder and the also on the Vulcan.

Both given as a gift from a friend--a very nice gesture indeed.

The "rules" say to mount them as low as possible--but I have mounted the bell on one of the cables on the handlebar on the Spyder and on a saddlebag buckle on the Vulcan. They have been doing their magic for many years.

Most bikes in AK have guardian bells on them.

Many of us do... The tradition is that someone has to give it to you. My wife here in Lady Spyderlovers and on the Lady Spyder Ryders Facebook group started a Guardian/Gremlin Bell interchange concept... maybe we can do the same... (pay it forward ;))...

Ours hangs from the very front of the Spyder down low (in front of the frunk). Ed drilled a small hole there and ran a ring through it. You can hang more than one, in different locations, if your friends are really generous...they come in all sorts of designs. Don't buy your own bell, though...buy one for a friend when you see a design you like (or one that has meaning to them--military service, dragon, etc).

Gremlin Bell

My :spyder2: has its bell at the lowest part of the body. A good friend gives it to you for luck and I think it keeps the gremlins away while riding. According to the ritural it has more strenght when it is given to a friend and not bought by one who wants one.:ani29::f_spider:

Never been given one can't say what it does but it come down to an old saying I was told by a old friend who has since passed, believe kills and believe cures.

A friend (HD rider) gave me one for my RS. Just traded for an RT and took off the bell. Gave the bell back to him so he could "give" it to me again. That's supposed to be the trick it has to be given to you. Mine hangs under the RT on a ring through a hole I found that I could put the ring through.
