• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

Halo Lighting

I've seen pics of RTs with halo underbody lighting that also illuminates the rear wheel. But I haven't found this for purchase anywhere. Been searching a few days now :banghead:. Can anyone point me in the right direction on this please?

Strip Lighting

For myself, we just use strips to light the areas. The RS is easier to light the rear tire since it has fender struts to tuck them in. The RT seems to have only the saddlebox to light from. But keep in mind, reflection is what it's all about. Now this is only my opinion.

I have Clearwater Lights on my RT. I got them from RocketMoto. They are kind of pricey but the set-up is kinda nice. They come with a controller for brightness on low beam and automatic full brightness on high beam. They mount on the steering so they follow the wheels. I am now able to ride at night. Go to www.rocketmoto.com for more info or email [email protected].

What you are looking for is Tric Lighting a site sponsor found on the home page 2nd down on right column. Not well marked unless you know what you are looking for.

Enter the site with extreme caution and your wallet hidden.:roflblack::roflblack: All kidding aside Reggie has some top notch stuff here, some off it is even plug and play making install pretty easy. He stands behind his product if you ever have an issue .

Bet you can't leave the site only buying one item, what with CHRISTMAS only 6 weeks away.:roflblack:

Don't see anything on that site for halo underbody lighting. Thanks though. Always good to have another source for accessories.

email Reggie at TRICLED, I am sure he has something even if its not on his website.

he has tons of LED stuff, and a great guy as well. met him at the Spyder owners event at Maggie Valley

One thing really concerns me with halo lighting. I already bottom out frequently when going over speed bumps. Wouldn't that damage the LEDs on the underside?

Yes it will!! On the RT, there are many places where you can tuck lights out of the way where they are protected. Reggie can help with not only the actual lights, but also ideas on mounting them.

My problem is that I bottom out on the center frame after the front tires have already cleared the bumps. Is there any way to prevent this? Is this simply a common issue on the rt? And how do rt owner with halo lights deal with this?

One way is to not drive straight over a hump, but to go at an angle. I do this with any suspect humps and curbs.

How much of an angle? I tried this the other day on a hump i bottom out on occasionally and still bottomed out.

Hummm. Good question. I guess intuitively the bigger the hump, the bigger the angle, to a point of course. I'd say if it is a common place you go over, and none of that works, I'd suggest ELKAs all around to raise you a bit. Not a sales pitch, but reality.

Good news. Someone suggested on my bottoming out thread to adjust my suspension, that they never bottom out when riding 2 up with their suspension set at 64 psi. I checked my suspension today and found it was set at a measly 20 psi. I did like the squishiness of the ride, but I pumped it up to 70 psi. Handling improved dramatically, and I feel like I'm riding a good 2-3 inches higher than before. I actively tried to bottom out a couple times on a bump today that i would sometimes hit on and couldn't. Looks like its time to order my halo kit!
