• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

Redundant starting procedure

I just got my first SPYDER, 2021 RT Ltd, love it but feel pretty stupid knowledge wise at this point so should be a good opportunity to ask a stupid question.

The starting procedure seems very redundant. Why keys instead of a fob? Why key, mode, on/off switch, start button when my car is just a fob in the pocket and a start button? They cost as much as a car, seems they could afford the same electronics.

Welcome to the forum Corny. :congrats: on the new 2021 Spyder RTL!! You can find lots of good information here on the Spyder RTL in the different areas of the forum. Make sure and post a photo of your new ride in the Spyder Garage area of the forum when you get a chance too. So the engineers at BRP thought it would be nice to have something that you did not have to replace batteries in like the key fob so they designed a key that needs no battery (good Job) than they thought what if someone finds the key, how can we make a secret code that only someone with a Spyder would know; they came up with key, mode, brake peddle, on/off switch, start button. Wow Got some smart people at BRP working us and we now know the secret code to start a Spyder. That's my story and I'm sticking with it.:joke: I hope to see you around the forum soon! Live to Ride, Ride to Live! :2thumbs:
