• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

Thanks for allowing me on the thread.

I'm a two wheel rider who wants to transition to the Spyder and get some trips under my belt before, well, you know how it goes - some of you.
My only concern is finding a Spyder with enough leg room for me. RT's are too short. F3, stock, without extending the foot rests/ brake pedal, are not long enough either.
Someone said that I can not only move the foot rests, but I can install an elongated seat that will make the ride more fitting. Anybody got a handle on that kind of seat?
Thanks. Looking forward to learning

Welcome to the Forum drowski.

The seats you are looking for are the optional BRP 'Comfort Seat', they sit the Rider a couple of inches further back to allow more leg room. BUT, not too many people check in on this part of the Forum, so you probably won't get too much in the way of answers by posting questions in here :sour: (see the last sentence of Spyderbot's post above. ;) )

Once your Username goes Blue, your registration processing will be complete and then you'll be able to post in all the other sections of the Forum - you should post that same question up then, I'd suggest in the Spyder General Discussion section with a title that briefly asks your question... saaay, something like: "Which Spyder will I fit? Will a Comfort Seat help?" :2thumbs:

That said, the early RT's could be fitted with the optional Tri-axis handlebars to allow for adjustable reach length but your only option for extra leg room was the Optional Comfort Seat (and BRP's publicity blurbs referred to the std seat as a 'Comfort Seat' too, just to confuse things, so make sure you specify the Optional Comfort Seat if that's the way you end up going! ;) . The 2020 & on RT's have looong floorboards & traditional handlebars so you can use any of the F3 bars if necessary to cater for taller riders, but they also have a needlessly complex dash with a dodgy bluetooth interface! :banghead: . And don't forget that the F3's come with the U-Fit system, that has 5 different positions to cater for different leg lengths (you'll need to purchase different length brake/gear shift rods if you don't get them included in your purchase tho! ) & there's 3 different (standard) handlebar reach lengths for the F3's too (plus there's a few other options you might like as well, only again, that's all more expense! ;) ) But you really should ask your question out on the more used public pages so that others can chip in their 2 bob's worth!

Cheers, & again, welcome!
