• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

Hello! Hoping to be a new Spyder RT owner

After over 40 years of 1 wheel riding, I've come to the point of wanting a 3 wheeler.
Obviously, the Spyder caught my attention.
I've been reading a lot and watching videos. I'm still not 100% on board due to concers over potentially very dangerous situations in the event of failure of any of the several high tech systems this bike has.
I'm seriously considering a 2021RT, hoping the "bugs" are worked out.
Of course, I've read countless posts and watched videos raving about how enhoyable these machines are.
I've also read too many "horror stories" about problems and expense of repairs.

So, I'm hoping I'm not just being too fearful and possibly passing up an opportunity to buy a very good machine.

I'm sure this is common to hear from new to Can Am people considering buying one, so I appreciate anyone taking the time to share their feedback with me.

Thanks,
Mark

Welcome to the forum MarkinPA. I Hope you enjoy it. You can find lots of good information here on the Different models of Spyders on the different areas of the forum. You will be the first that I know of to come from 1 wheel to 3 wheels, we do get a lot of 2 wheelers come to 3 wheels. 3 wheels will not be the same as two wheels (I'm sure that is what you wanted to say in your intro) 3 wheel will take some getting use too, but once you do get it down pat you will love it. Stop at a red light and you don't have to put your foot down to hold the bike up, it holds you up while you wait. lots of thing I could go into but I will save that for another time. You should visit a local dealer just to look at them and sit on an F3 and RT to see witch on your like best for sitting position. As far as Horror stories and hi cost of repairs that can be said for any bike because you only hear the squeaky wheel, like this forum most will post looking for help to fix something; its not what is happening to all bikes. The Can Am Spyder is a very good product and is backup by the manufacturer. If you are looking for something stable, fun to ride, good touring, Good power and safe two up riding a Spyder will do that for you. I hope to see you around the forum soon. Good luck with you research and shopping.
