• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

i went shopping today and at 83 degrees i felt like i was dying. i can tell that if i don't get out really early in the morning i will not be riding much again like last year. i must be allergic to the sun, besides being at least 100 pounds over weight, i sweat like there is a water hose on my head, and i get itchy from head to toe when i am in the sun.

so how many of you love the summer and are sun worshipers.

Let's see..!!

I don't worship it, I don't sunbathe in it but when it comes to ryding I deal with it. Heat away cooling collar and planning the ryde to be where it's coolest. Start out into the hills till it warms up then turn left to the coast and ryde along the beaches. This place is ideal what with the pacific ocean being so cold the breeze blowing off it is very refreshing.

I love the heat, the hotter the better. Would love to move to the desert if I could.
Just hate the cold weather, anything below 60 degrees is too cold!

I am not a fan of those "hot" temps. Here defined as 85 and up. We are mostly moderate and do not exceed 70 very often--twice so far this season.

When we visited Hawaii a couple years ago in August, we rode the Hana Highway on a Spyder RS in 98 degrees or so. I called that hot. We got stuck in a traffic line up due to an accident on a different road, and the RS promptly went into limp mode. By the time that traffic started up again (about 30 minutes), the Spyder restarted and the limp mode went away. Back to the rental agency with no problems.

I love the desert, BUT

When it gets above 105, it feels like a hair drier blowing on you, not the wind. From now 'til late Sept, I'll be riding at night and early mornings.

Heat

It's over 90 here right now and it's miserable. I tend to ride on days with a lot of clouds, try to ride where there are a lot of trees to make it bearable. I feel your pain.

I have a pretty wide "comfort range"...
mid-thirties, to the mid-nineties: I'm good!
But I don't care for the heat much above that, and I do NOT ever expose myself to direct sunlight..
(It must be a Transylvanian thing... :dontknow:)

I like the summer better than winter... I shoot competition pistols and we are in the direct sun from 9:00 AM to 2:00 PM... here in the south its normal for the temps to be in the 90's... just have to remember to drink plenty of liquids & use sunscreen....

Use to like the hot weather. The older I get, not so much. Here in eastern NC it's hot and humid from as early as late February to mid November. From May to October, you can count on it.

My first summer in Las Vegas, I do not miss the winters in Pa but it will be over 100 this weekend. Oh yes we are going riding. Hydrate!
