i need help. the dealer says it is easy to do

i am installing some wiring and a switch for the emergence lights i put on the bike. i would like to remove the spedo and tach cluster from the dash so i can use the space behind it for some wiring, is there a special tool to use, can someone who has done it please tell me how it is done. i am having a problem and don't want to force it thanks

If you have the screws out it should just pull free. You may have to jockey the handlebars a little to get it clear.

Once you get the screws out there are some tabs that kinda hold it, just pull one side then the other to pull it out.

but the pros have spoken. Word of caution...place a towel around the handlebar neck. Those dash screws have a tendancy to fall out and find there way down in the depths to never be seen again...:thumbup:

:agree: Pop all of the screws out, shift it a little bit from left to right (Or right to left...), and block up the opening with a huge towel...

I've pulled that panel out a few times and once I moved the bars full lock to the left it came out the easiest.
