• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

I'm going a different route on my next set of front tires - trying these IOTA EVT (Standard)'s instead!

Yup, I might be the first one to try this particular set of 165/55R15 tires for my RT S2S:

https://www.acceleratire.com/product/ultra-high-performance-183/iota-evt-1767

They cost $128/pair delivered. As I have chronicled in the past, I have not had any luck getting the Vredestein 165/60R15's to stop rubbing the inner fender. Shimming with washers and swapping out to low profile screws did not help. What may contribute to the situation are my 5.5" wide PPA wheels that the tires were mounted on. Fitment was not an issue on my past F3S, but when I put them on my 2022 RT fenders, they were a no go. This was even after shimming/screw swaps. I ended up selling my F3S with the Vredesteins installed on it.

To have my PPA's operational, I installed some Kenda Kanines. No rubbing issues. On my OEM RT S2S wheels, I have some Achilles Economist 165/55R15 tires installed. I purchased these from Walmart three years ago and really like them. Best part, they were $110/pair. Back in the late teens/early 2020's, these tires, along with Federal Formoza's, were available in 165/55R15 sizes, but no more. I pondered a set of 175/55R15 or 155/60R15 to replace the spongy Kanines. It should be noted that I removed all three OEM tires right after purchase and sold them on FB Market Place. Not wanting to risk an expensive issue with the 175's or going narrower to 155's, I started digging around.

I saw the Accelera EVT's marketed as a summer tire by one seller. This turned me away, as being in WI, I will ride my Spyder in lower 40°s temps. I then saw these advertised as all weather tires by another vendor. They returned a reply stating they were indeed all weather, although likely not very good in snow. Works for me. I also read the tire description from the MFR, stating they were year round capable. It also should be noted that they make a standard version of this tire for gas powered vehicles, and these are the ones I purchased. This is their description:

IOTA EVT (STANDARD)

Smarter, stronger, and more versatile — this next-gen upgrade to the iconic Accelera PHI delivers ultra-high performance and everyday reliability for gas-powered vehicles. Engineered for confident driving in all conditions, the IOTA EVT standard version brings traction, comfort, and control together in one powerful pattern.
  • UHP Grip for superior traction and control
  • Lower rolling resistance for better fuel efficiency
  • All-condition performance for year-round confidence
  • Reinforced tread for durability and handling at high speed
The tires will arrive Friday and be mounted Monday. I'll post photos of them when I receive them and after mounting. Hoping they work out just as well as my Achilles Economist have. We shall see??

Where do you buy this brand? What is their country of origin?

The tread pattern looks to be fine for the rear tire. It looks similar to Federal's I ran on the front of one of mine for a while. Then I switched to Vredesteins and they were much better.

165/60R15 tires have contact issues. I enjoyed my Vredesteins on my F3S, but I also like my $55 165/55R15 Achilles on my RT S2S. Much better than the Kanines. The Accelera's will be used up front, as they're available in OEM 165/55R15 size.

I plan on just having the dealer put two new Kendas on my RT next Spring. Doesn't take much thought on my part.
My question to you would be: Have you ever run a car tire on the front of your Spyder? I'm guessing no? I can say yes, as I have used both a Vredestein 165/60R15 and Achilles 165/55R on my F3S and the Achilles 165/55R15 on my RT S2S. Switching directly back and forth between my OEM wheels/Achilles 165/55 and my PPA/Kanines makes my thought process very easy. No more spongy Kenda's, OEM or Kanine. Who knows, I may have a set of 2K mile's Kenda Kanines for sale locally at a reduced cost next week...

I replaced my Federal EVO front tires one year ago due to age with Vredestein Quatrac 165/60R and now have 5,350 on them and find them supremely comfortable and very grippy. Have not ridden them extensively in the rain because my trip to Spyderquest was rain free and I have ridden in only one local short shower.

I found the Vredestein's to be an excellent tire .. on my F3S. Couldn't eliminate the rubbing on my RT S2S front fenders with 5.5" wide PPA wheels.
