There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. IPhone IOS 6 issue

Has anyone had any problems playing music via the iphone connection after upgrading the phone to IOS 6? It seems that all I can do now is control the volume. I can not browse songs or playlists. Also the display just says AUX not ipod/iphone as it used to.

No I haven't had any problems at all. I upgraded and have ridden several times since. I even was able to switch to albums and artist instead just playing the playlist. (I had never tried before) I have the 4S model.

The iPhone 5 (it is the sixth, but that is not the name) has a different connector, so there is no adapter cable. I would assume you had to hook it up through the mp3 cable or a combination of cables. Without the old style connector, it will act as an aux device since it cannot be identified as an iPod and doesn't have the extra wires for control via the old interface.

This one of the reasons I didn't upgrade, I have too many devices that use the old style connector. Our car as entune which uses the iPhones data plan to connect to the Internet, spyder of course. I'm sure an adaptor will come out but not sure if the communication protocol is the same.

Sorry if I misunderstood. In that case I'd suspect that the problem could actually lie in your cable or the cable attachment. If the cable doesn't seat well, the Apple device will be read as an aux device instead. I have had this problem a few times. Be sure that both sides of the cable latch into the iPhone/iPod. I have also seen this when I did not reboot the device. For whatever reason, it fails to be recognized if it is on when plugged in. In that case a reboot after it is hooked upo, or sometimes even just restarting the Spyder or unpluggiong and reconnecting the cable does the trick. Could still be related to the latest IOS, but I'd try these other possibilities before giving up.

I have a couple questions for all you smart people that are sort of related to this thread. I recently bought a Scala Rider and since I started using it I no longer can use the radio on the Spyder. My display now reads AUX and I don't even have the Ipod cable. In fact I just went out and checked and it is on AIX and my phone and Scala are no where near it. Do I have a problem with the Spyder?

I have ordered the new Iphone as my HTC Incredible has been less than incredible. Would it be worth it for me to purchase the Spyder Ipod cable to use with my new phone or not? What will it do for me vs just plugging the phone in on the 12 volt charger?

I had a small issue initially with my Scala G9, but the recent 1.3 update corrected that.

The bike seems to be working fine with iOS6 for me.

Thanks for all the replies. i tried rebooting and making sure that cable was completely seated on the iphone and the bike but these did not help. I am hoping that it is just the cable. I will go the the dealer this weekend and see if they have one I can try out.

Radio replaced with 2012 model

I use to have that same problem and it seemed to happen if I opened and closed the rear compartment (2011 RTS). Then my radio was replaced under the water intrusion campaign, and the connector had to be changed as they must have given me the new 2012 radio. SInce the new radio and connector was installed, never had the issue with AUX appearing again.

Well, I thought I would post a follow-up. I went to the dealer today and it turned out it was the cable. The dealer replaced it no charge!

Connection

I have the iPad 2 with the updated IOS6 on it and do not have any issues, I have had an issue of the adapter plug coming unplugged and it will show the aux display. Just check and make sure it is plugged in good, i hope this post helps.
