• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

Kuryakyn grip removal?

Anyone know how to remove Kuryakyn grips? I'm changing handlebars and was hoping I didn't have to buy new grips also. I was concerned when I saw a video install of the grips using a special glue and was hoping it wasn't permanent especially since you can't get a screwdriver to lift up a lip to put spray up there. Any insights would be appreciated.

I'm not aware of any method to get them off if glued on. It may be that you can order just the replacement rubber pieces & not the whole grips & save a few dollars.

Next time, if you wrap your handlebars with electrical tape instead of glue, you can deinstall them later without tearing them up. Just add or remove electrical tape until the grips are as tight as you want them.

I've been doing using this method for many years.

I spoke to Kuryakyn about that earlier this month at Americade because my right one didnt go on all the way. He said that you can typically break them free with a lot of force.....I was afraid of breaking the throttle piece though so I just left it out 1/4 of inch. I am putting vista cruise on it so it wont matter for me now.

If you have a high pressure air hose you can usually blow them off. If you can get the nozzle in between the inside grip end and the switch housing a couple of lasts of ir will usually remove them. I hav seen this done many times at the local shop. I glued mine on and by mistake stopped about a half inch from being completely on. I m taking it over to have it removed net week o I can re-glue it.
