I'm 78 and recovering from a serious illness. I can't easily handle my old Yamaha Venture or Honda Valkyrie any more. So, I let them go and just use my Spyder S2S. I love this machine and intend on using it frequently until the Grim Reaper stops me. I'm planning a couple of long rides late this summer/early fall.

BTW, I have been riding since I was 15! I have had a bike all this time with interruptions for wars (2) and serious illnesses (2).

Hi, I am in my eighties, and I am seriously considering a new old RTL. I am taking a Can-Am two-day Intro to 3-wheel riding next weekend.

I am fairly healthy, and most folks think I am in my 70's. I currently ride a bike regularly, and once upon a time I had a 900 cc Kawasaki Z1A.

I would like to hear about experiences of "senior" riders...

I'm 75 and have ridden my 2018 RT Ltd from LA to Washington DC 3 times so far. Taken it through a tremendous hailstorm, rain, wind, and tornado warnings this May going across Kansas.

I am 80 and have two 2018 RTL's. Rode one from AZ to Washington back in May. 6 days and 1800 miles. So now a have a summer one in Washington and a winter one in Arizona.

I was actually surprised that so many riders are still going at it at their ancient years. I'm 84, have just about all the gear I can have for any situation, a water cooler vest for the heat and a heated jacket for the cold and I live in Louisiana where one can ride year round and have a 2014 RTL with lots and lots of upgrades. I always ride alone. Not by choice but then, I live alone so, why not ride.

I am 80, and I recently found a 70-year-old soulmate to ride on the Spyder and in the KRX SxS with me. Life is feeling good again, after losing my wife of 40 years in the summer of 2021.

85 next month and have ridden my Spyders 150,000+ miles. But not every day like I used to... I've slowed down this past year. It's been a great ryde!

Glad to see that you're planning on riding on into the sunset. I can only agree that's the right approach. :yes: You've just gotta remember that, even if you have a short break between bikes every now and then...

I'd say, go for it! I traded my 07 BMW for my 15 RT-S 9 years back. Have no plans to sell it; still much fun. Will be 80 in 2 months, been riding with both of them and 65 years, so far. One of the best things is parking in gravel lots at restraints with no worries.

A youngster at 77 recovering from a heart attack but riding at least several times a week, You will love the Spyder after you put some miles on it and forget everything you ever learned about riding a 2 wheeler. Best of luck.

As many know on this forum, I'm 91 still riding two up with the Mrs, give it a go, I think you'll enjoy the ride.
