• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

Moto Fizz Passenger Camp Bag

Just got one of these from Aerostitch. Instructions all in Japanese and am waiting for an English guide by email.

I got the large which fits the Spyder fine. Its truly huge and has more straps and tie downs then I suspect I will ever use or understand.

I have not had it out yet on the road but it seems to strap down very securely and fits the passenger seat and handles very well. My goal was to have something that could hold basically what I would pack in a large carry on suitcase. Do wish it had a set of wheels but I don't think anyone has quite done that except the small front case from BRP.

They have upgraded the rain cover (the bag is water resistant) and it has a cinch cord now. One of the criticisms I had read was the rain cover would come off in high wind. Both ends open as well as the top. There is also a built in cinch bag on the inner zippered closure. I guess its for things you need or don't need along the way like clothing and other gear. Not sure yet if it would hold your helmet. One other nice feature is when empty you can open both ends and fold them in making it a relatively flat pack to fit in another bag or trailer (still waiting for my trailer).

I'll let everyone know how it actually travels and packs when I get on the road with it. When it stops raining I'll roll the bike out of the garage and take a pic to show its fit on the bike.

I have a few different bags that I use... some waterproof, some not.

Regardless of the bag I use at any given time, I ALWAYS line the bag with a large garbage bag... just to make sure that it's waterproof.

What a coincidence.

I never heard of Aerostich until last week, went to the site and ordered a Dry Bag. It just showed up 5 minutes ago. I'll be packing my electronics in it JUST in case my boot isn't 100% waterproof. Looks like we may see some rain on the ride down.

Nelson Rigg Survivior Series - all I use - waterproof, you can compact it depending what you got in it, I'll be using it for Gatlinburg:thumbup:

Moto Fizz is a big wet Fizzle.

Just finished corresponding with Aerostitch after reading the English instructions.

Apparently the so called raincover is not waterproof! It is considered a dustcover. :yikes:

They suggest a repellant/sealant and a seam sealer. They do not sell an aftermarket waterproof raincover and the same page that sells this bag sells replacement Raincovers. I have taken them to task for not renaming the covers and stating clearly that the bag is in no way waterproof or protected. Can you imagine if you took on faith their claims and went on a long tour somewhere?

I do not know if I will keep this bag as this seems outrageous and ridiculous to me for a camping pack on the back of a motorcycle. If I am going to put my stuff in big garbage bags like I used to I don't need to spend a bunch of money on a fancy bag.

I guess it never rains in Japan.

If you decide to get another type of bag, might I suggest either the Helen2Wheels bags or the Seal-Line bags. Both come in either end or side opening styles, a variety of sizes, and are completely waterproof. The Helen2Wheels bags have loops for bungees or chich straps, and a reflective strip. The picture shows both on our Spyder, ready for a camping trip.

Thanks for the names of those two types of bags Scotty! I did a search. Found the sites. Bookmarked them. GREAT stuff!!! Especially the Helen2wheels. Dee rings built in and a strap system package. This is the stuff to have to travel!!

You are a fountain of information!! THANKS!!!

The Helen2Wheels clothes bag is one of my all time favorites. Even has compression straps to squeeze out the extra air and pack tightly. If you ever get a chance to attend one of her seminars at a rally, jump on it. This woman is a real rider, and knows what it takes to pack for the road. She has invented a system that serves the touring rider's needs well.
