• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

My Cheapest, Yet Best, Mod So Far

Here is the latest "Mod" for my Spyder, that just arrived in the mail today. It was the cheapest for me ever, because even though I included a $10 check for it, they returned my check in the shipping envelope.

So, without further ado, here is my free Mod and what I may consider the best one on my Spyder.

In case you are not sure what it is, I am talking about my license plate. :2thumbs:

Free Plate

Now that is the proper thing to do. You all are deserving of that and more. They don't do that for us in Ohio.

Hamie, Thanks for your service as well. Glad to see your state has a program like that as well.

TaJohn, that is very interesting that Ohio doesn't do something similar for their veterans. For some reason I just assumed that all states would have some type of special plate.

South Carolina actually has 20 different Military License Plates, each with it's own requirements for qualification to place it on your vehicle. Here is a link the the gallery with a picture and qualifications needed for each of them:

Thanks for posting that information Brevet05.

As I stated, I thought mine was going to cost a whole $10, but they sent my check back and told me to just drop my current plate off at the nearest DMV office when I get a chance. That is almost as good as a free lunch. :D

I think Ohio's feeling the pinch, because I have their Active Duty special plates on my car, and there was no charge for them. Guess I'll see when I renew. Looked it up, it's just motorcycle plates that have the extra charge...

That is a very good suggestion as well. Now I guess I will have to come off some more cash and find one that will fit my Spyder. :D

Thanks Dean.

From one Vet to Another...

Nice mod and thank you for your service. I was going to get the DAV plate for my Spyder but I just haven't gotten around to it. Again thank you. /Ken

Thank you for your sacrifice as well sir. My disabilities are minor in comparison to most, and not enough to qualify for the DAV plate in our state. They just came out with this one last year. We are allowed to have 2 of them, so 1 is on my car and now this one is on my Spyder.

I put the DV plate on my truck. I had two, one on my car and the other on the truck but only got the registration discount on one plate. When I sold the car, I turned in the other DV plate and put the registration discount on the truck.

I haven't checked into a Vets plate for the Spyder yet but may the next time I'm at the tax office.

Thank You all for your service :2thumbs:

Thanks

To all that served in the Armed Forces. whether in peace or war times.

Funny I saw this thread this morning, as I was talking to my buddy in Texas a couple of days ago and he mentioned he pays $3.00 for his plates on his truck and camper.

Guess I will have to check out New York. Probably charge a bit extra here!!

Yeah, when I moved to Indiana and went to get a plate, they told me it was an extra charge for a veteran's plate. I told them I already paid extra once and they could shove it.

extra

And I'm betting the clerk didnt even blink an eye...probably dazed with confusion as in "I wonder what he is talking about?":spyder2:
