• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. My only complaint on the 14...

Ive had the 14 for a few months... My only complaint so far and dont know if anyone else feels the same is the brake pedal... I have to pick up my whole leg in order to step on the brake... Very uncomfortable... anyone else?? any ideas??

i have the same problem with my 13 rt so i added the hand brake, now i am thinking of making a half floor board riser so my heel sits higher and i can lift my toes to hit the brake

Your post is also a concern for me, since I have hip issues. Have not had a chance to beta test yet and am waiting for mine to arrive. I will be watching this post, and hopefully soon will be able to add some additional input.

When I first started my test on the 14 I did not like having to lift my leg to apply the brakes, but with time I got used to it. I also learned to use the side of my foot to put pressure on the peddle for when I just needed to slow down.

I think the problem is more the floor boards than the brake pedal.

Don't know..!!

if on the 14's you have any adjustment on the brake linkage that will allow you to lower the pedal. With floorboards you are limited to what you can do...:dontknow:

:agree:

There are to many positives to list about the 14's.
The only negative I've found on my extensive 200 kms I've put on my Spyder is the height of the break pedal.
I'll be interested in hearing as time goes by what ideas/solutions other members come up with.

i had a proublem some what like that on seal boards so i got a elercit type thing from the hardware store it let me rest my foot on it which lefted up my foot so i could step on the brake with out lefting my whole foot up.just rock your foot and step on the brake.:chat:

Agree with you 100%! It's uncomfortable, and awkward. Getting used to it. :coffee: Tom :trike:

You can always look at it this way;
If you DON'T pick up your leg; the nose of the bike will have to do the stopping for you! :yikes:
(Makes the effort seem worthwhile; don't it? :D)

It took a few thousand miles for me on the test Spyder but I got used to it. I am glad though that it isn't an issue on my SM6

I'm used to having to lift my foot/leg to apply the brake. I had the RIVCO RT Driver Floorboards on my 12 RT for almost a year and those boards lowered my foot position thus requiring me to lift my foot/leg to apply the brake. It took a little while for me to get used to this change in the braking process but now it seems like second nature.

I was experiencing the same problem with both my 2010 RTS with Seal floorborads and now with my '14. It's actually painful to lift my leg. Here's what works well for me: a hockey puck. That's right, a $1.67 hockey puck that is a heel rest/swivel point that provides enough room for my foot to rest normally on the board if I'm not in traffic or in situations where I want to be "ready" to apply the brake in a hurry. Just sit on your Spyder and move the puck around (another person helps) until you find the right spot. Then glue it down. I had used 3M double-sided tape with the Seals, but it didn't hold on the rubber of the stock floorboards. But Gorilla Glue works great.

I came from a Harley where I always had to lift my foot in order to activate the rear brake so I am use to doing that. You could buy an aftermarket brake lever for Harleys that would lower the brake pedel, but looking at the Spyder it's lever traval prevents doing that as you would be hitting the top of the floorboard before full engagement.

I guess that once you got your 'Boards all "Pucked-up"; you were good to go! :2thumbs: :D
Sorry; I couln't resist it! :roflblack:

I solved that (non) problem.

oversized brake pedal and highway pegs, now i can apply the brakes with my heel and never have to move my foot off the highway pegs.
