• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

Needing a rear tire. I am in Winston-Salem, NC. Any recommendations on a dealer. Will be here till Wednesday
Thank you.

Honda of Winston-Salem, 888.383.4021., closed Monday. Will do Kenda MC tires or your auto tire if you bring it. They have good Spyder techs.

Jaybros, do you run a car tire on your? If so which brand and where can I get it?

Ruthie, right down the street from Honda/Can Am on Stratford Rd is Mock's Tires. They should be able to fix you up with a tire or could likely get whatever you want by Tuesday. Do you have local transportation? If not, I can be in Winston Monday morn and give you a hand. I'm retired so it would not be any trouble. I've had good luck with Pirelli, lots of folk use Kumho Ast. Whether either of these would be available is unknown, but if you want to spend the money, go with a Michelin. Can't go wrong, and likely they would be readily avail. Otherwise, you can go with the OEM Kenda. Not my choice, but maybe something you have to use if you can't get a car tire. I'm gonna PM you my phone number now.

Ted, thanks for the information. I have Kumho on the bike now with over 17,000 miles on it now. Really want to another car tire, so happy with this news.

This is why I love Spyderlovers.
Yes, hubby is with me on his Gold Wing so I have other transportation.

What sites around Winston-Salem sure we see?

No, I'm still on a soft compound Kenda. When that goes south I'll try the older, harder, reintroduced in July '14 compound before going to an auto tire. My first choice today for an auto tire would be a Yokohama S Drive, 205/55-15. I have no idea of source for this tire in W-S.

Just saw this. Unfortunately We're about three hours east of Winston Salem. If you want to see some sites there are a ton of vineyards. There is Old Salem, a really neat Moravian village. If you have time, you can take a run up to Boone, NC. It's about and hour and half up 421. Beautiful little mountain town.

Well, checked at Mock Tire Shop for a auto tire, no luck. So I will get a Kendra tire on tomorrow. Hope the dealer in Winston-Salem has a tire. What is bad is that I have a Kumho tire waiting for me back home. We checked tires before we left and all was good but knew that by the time we got home it be time to change.
What is strange it is bare in one spot and just getting to the wear mark on most of the tire. No, I have not been doing burn out, just riding the Rattler and the Blue Ridge. Maybe a few more curved roads.

Well shoot! You mean they did not have anything in a 205 or 215-60-15?? I'm surprised. Either size works well.

Ted, that is correct. Even checked their warehouse. I think it the rim size 15" that is the problem.

I have gone to Honda Winston Salem same day for a tire replacement, and they had me out in no time. They should have it in stock and have you on the road in a couple of hours. Get there about 8:45, as they open at 9:00. Great dealer!

When you go to the dealer tell them you want the old, hard compound tire. It's part number 750501464. To guarantee you get the right tire ask them to show you the manufacture date, week and year, that should read later than 2814. The manufacture date looks like the one in the picture but the picture is of the soft compound manufactured the 9th week of 2014. Good luck.
