• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

I just scored a really killer deal on a Vrod with less than 2K on the clock - I'll get her this weekend. As of this morning, I put a deposit down on a new scorpion conversion kit, and will do the assembly myself.

My discussions with the scorpion folks indicated there will be a frunk, saddlebags and other goodies coming.. For stage !, I'll have a F3 competitor for under $10K + my labor.....

Good luck..!!

Looking forward to some pictures on your progress. Would be nice to see it less bony..:roflblack: but will be a fun project...:2thumbs:

I was reading about the scorpion conversions this morning. Looks pretty killer! Its amazing how inexpensive a vrod can be had and their performance is totally respectable. Should make for a nice ride!

Found a wrecked Vrod with Harley bags, gunfighter seat - all for $250!! Another trip this weekend.

I'll have to hold off painting until the tupperware is available for the frunk, but I'm in no hurry.

I met John and saw the product

in person at a bike night. A very sharp guy, and to me it looks like an extremely well designed and quality conversion for the Vrod.

That's a great deal! I was talking to a guy that had a pretty much mint one for about $4k. Figure another $5-$6k on the scorpion kit. That's a nice ride for about 10k! Then when you get bored of it throw a turbo kit on it for another $6k and you've got a 160+hp monster.
Good stuff! Anyone wanna buy a spyder?!?!.....[emoji12]

I had my RT in for its first service this week, and they had a F3 next to a RS for comparison, on the floor. I wanted to like it, but, I just couldn't. To me, with all the adjustable bits, it looks unfinished. I understand why it's put together that way, but when I put the Vrod's or RT's fit & finish against it, the F3 just comes up short - and it feels smaller too. I know a lot of folks like the F3, but the finished Scorpion will do a better job of ringing my bell.

Apparently, the current "open" design of the Scorpion is for air flow - but the Vrod IS water cooled...

I called my local Hardley dealer, and they assured me they would be happy to provide any drivetrain service the modified Vrod might need.

Have you seen any pics with any of the extra bodywork offerings yet? I really like the kit open the way it is, but a bit of front storage is nice to have.
Oh, yea I agree. I'm not really digging the f3 stink bug look either.....different strokes for different folks I guess.

Nothing yet, but photos have been promised soon. There's been some discussion of an empty shell and a storage option. I see both being big $$.. (just look at Vertika), but I have a couple of ideas of my own....

Way to go. :2thumbs: One heck of a deal. I, for one, will be looking forward to hearing about and seeing updates on your project.
