There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. New Style 1" riser

I'm seeing on eBay a riser that is simply a spacer rather than the whole handlebar mounting block. Looks like an easier install and should be just as good. Has anyone seen/tried this? It has a BRP part number. Looks like it will require longer bolts and they don't say if bolts are included. If they are fairly conventional I should be able to get them at the local ACE (the helpful place!).

Thanks. Standing by.

That is the factory riser which doesn't seem to help most folks. Many people put the 1" factory riser on, then find they need more rise and end up installing additional risers. I'm not sure whether you'll need longer bolts to install, but someone here will chime in and let you know.

I understand that many think that 1" is not enough but I have quite long arms and from previous bike experience I find that 1" is quite a bit of rise. That's why I'm looking at this item. The original BRP has you taking the mounting block off the steering spindle. This one just requires that the handlebars be removed, the spacer laid in place and then bolt it back together. No gear pullers and any of that brain damage. It also seems to me that a 1" rise is just that, no matter how you get it.

Help me out here. What am I missing? Is there also a Spyder that's an ATV and this item is for it? Glad I asked.

I'm 5'4" ride a RS and find that the 2" riser is just fine for me. Everyone is different some are built like apes and others are like spider monkies like me!

That appears to be similar to the 2 3/8 inch one I put on from Spyder City. If thats all you need its fine!

What is really needed is a total redesign of the handlebars and bar mounts to provide some up an down fore and aft movement just a few inches in each direction.

I found the 1" riser helped a lot, but nowhere near enough. Added the 5" kewlmetal bars on that (not really 5" of rise, more like 2-3?) and it's about right.

I like having the 1" riser in there. It makes it a lot easier to get underneath the bars for cabling and such, and it keeps my handlebar bag from rubbing the painted surfaces.

As with all mods, try before you buy (spyderfest etc) or learn to sell off your spare parts and expect to have to try a few times before you get it right (what most people have to do.)
