There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. Niagra Falls Vacation

Looks like the wife and I will be going up to the falls for our vacation this year (August 5th - 11th):yes:. We are taking the spyder with our toy hauler camper. Not 100% sure on what campgrounds we will be staying at. Last time I was up I was 10 so more or less will be my first time there.

Has anybody camped up near the falls and where did you stay? Where is the best place to go for tourist stuff? Where is the best place for a great ride?

It would also be cool to ride with some other spyder riders as well.

Thanks

I have been there too many times to count. in fact, i have two trips planned there this year(march, and august 17-19). the tourist stuff is easy. come on over to canada! it is the definition of tourist trap, but we do have the best view of the falls by a huge margin. lots of "museums" if you can call them that, but lots of history involved-including some of the actual barrels that people went over the falls in! if you spyder in to canada, take the niagara parkway from buffalo to niagara-on-the-lake. not a fast road(30mph if i recall) but scenic and never straight.

I haven't camped at niagara falls for years, but when i did these were my 2 favorites. The koa in niagara falls ont. and a park called shangri-la niagara family campground, Also the weekend your planning to arrive is a long weekend here so book as soon as you can, I am booking holidays this week and i will try to get some time off to show you around + i'm sure some other ontario ryders will also respond

KOA in Niagara Falls is super. Book early though because it close to town and very popular.

There are many packages for attractions around the city. If you do only one touristy thing make sure that you go on The Maid of the Mist boat ride. It is awesome. The best way to see the falls up close and personal.

I would also recommend taking a side trip to Niagara on the Lake. A truly pretty tourist town. If you are into wine tours there are plenty on the way to this town.

I second the KOA it is on the US side and close to the Canadian border.

While you're up that way, head east a ways and check out the Erie Canal park near Rome, I understand it's really good.

Tim, I wil try and check it out. I have drove by it on a snowmobile, but have never stopped. I will be there in 5 weeks. There is also a B-52 on display at the Air Force base in town. I happen to think that plane is the most awesome of all. These are all on snowmobile trails. Go to Rome at least once a year riding.

Niagara Falls

There are several Ontario Spyder Riders in the surrounding area of Niagara Falls. I'm sure we'll figure a way to do a group ride. You'll find lots of tourist things to do in Niagara and there are some scenic roads nearby. I'm sure you have this already, but here's the official Niagara Falls Tourism website: http://www.niagarafallstourism.com/ I hope this helps. Regards, Stanley

Thanks for at the great responses. Looks like we are trying to get into the Branches Campground. Seems to be a good christian based place and brand new at that. We might just play it by ear on what we do while we are up there. Maybe. But for sure want to meet up with a bunch of spyder riders and make a good ride out of it.

Four Mile Creek State Park

We stayed their last year on our trip up. It is only 17 miles from it to Goat Island. It is a state park it has electric and a place to fill your RV and to dump. Real nice park.

The wife and I are thinking about taking a ride up to Toronto either monday(6th) or tuesday(7th). We might even stay the night near toronto so we can enjoy a nice ride up and take in the sites without being rushed to make it back before it gets too late.

Any suggestions on the best route up from Branches Campground in Grand Island, NY. What are the must sees while we are there or on our way. Any good/cheap places to stay close to the city if we decide to crash there.

Thanks all.

The best piece of advice I can give you is to avoid the Queenston/Lewiston bridge at all costs, everyone using a GPS crosses there and it can have 1-2 hour wait times depending on what day you cross and the time. Since you are staying on Grand Island crossing at the Rainbow bridge would be your best bet and once you get through customs it's 5-10 minutes until you are flying down the QEW towards Toronto. Here is the phone number for bridge wait times. 1 800 715 6722

If there is anything else I can help you with shoot me a PM. ;)

Well we made it to the campgrounds in grand island last night. The weather hasn't been that nice yet but we didn't have any plans for today anyways. It gives me some time to come up with some plans for monday and tuesday. Still trying to figure out what is the best things to do when we head up to toronto tomorrow. Wednesday we will be tourists on the canda side of the falls.

Niagra parkway

Once you get through customs on the Peace bridge, find the Niagara Parkway. It's only 35 MPH, but it follows the river and ends you up at Niagara on the Lake. Very Nice town
