• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

Of course, I agree with Rotaxrocket.

paint codes

I took my Spyder in for some mods at the bike shop and low and behold I noticed a nice scratch after the fact. Sooooo. I called BRP and they gave me the codes. I called a local paint place I was referred to from the bike shop and they said they would have to receive the formula from BRP which would request some kind of red tape paperwork which I could be wearing Depends before it was released to them. Does anyone have any info of how to get touch up paint? I can have the WHOLE fender repainted but would like to try this first. Help Anyone!!!:dontknow:

I really don't know how this works but I would have thought that the BASF paint code or the PPG paint code was all you needed for an auto paint supplier to buy or mix up the specified colors. :dontknow: From your post, I'm guessing that your bike shop isn't accepting responsibility for the scratch. :(

A good body shop can mix paint based on BASF code numbers. I have had my local body guy mix me the grey already. The only problem was with the yellow & red. These are a 3 step paint process in which you have a base coat, pearl coat & then a top coat. This can not be mixed into the small touch up viles. If a fender or panel of yellow or red needs touch up it will need to be painted completely. It's very easy to get paint codes from BRP. I have had them since June when Zerocool needed some grey touch up. The dealers just need to know where to look in BRP's dealer system.

Deep Black

Hey Lamont......Quick question.......Did these paint codes come from a BRP spread sheet? My painters supply house may have mixed up the wrong formula for the PPG Deep black code DBC-9554( the part number referenced on your thread) because the applied color was a blueish black.Today I took him an original black panel and he will match and re-shoot.Not a big deal but I told him the number I gave him was an official paint code from a more than reliable source.I am just curious if his supplier goofed?:dontknow:
My painter is not charging me to repaint the 8 panels the correct original black that BRP calls deep black.
Thanks....Steve

This is the same chart that is in the BRP service manual that I got so I'm guessing that the data came directly from BRP.
