• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

Hello.. As I have said before.. I am a newbie to Spyder Ownership and Motorcycles as well.. I am so excited for Spring and I am trying to put together a tool kit/emergency kit to carry with me.. I have read alot of great posts on here on what to carry with you.. and was wanting to here some ideas on or experience with portable air compressors and tire patch kits, Slime fix-a-flat?? Slime makes a very compact air compressor about 3x4.. any ideas or wisdow would be awesome.. thanks everyone.

Most folks here prefer to use Ride-On in their tires, instead of carrying a repair kit. Not only seals punctures (in the tread) but helps balance the tires quite well. They are a site sponsor. You can find their banner and the discount code on the SpyderLovers home page. Nancy and I both carry the Slime compressors on our Spyders. The RT power outlet may handle the amperage for one, but not the RS outlet. Best bet is to use the battery charging terminals under the seat. I carry CO2 kits on my bikes, but the Spyder tires are very large for that. As to repair kits, some use the string type kits available at most auto departments. I prefer the Stop-n-Go tire plugger. These kits seal better, IMO. I carry one on the Spyder or my BMW.

I have Ride-on but I also have the Slime portable air compressor...great for keeping my car and bike tires at proper pressure...

Are you saying that you lose pressure even with ride on? I ask b/c this last season I didn't check my pressures for awhile and then when I did I was down quite a bit in all tires. I guess this season I will be checking every few weeks.

I always carried a small air compressor and a patch kit on all my bikes even my SSR I have a kit as well because no spear came with it, I have use it many time to fix other bikers that had flats and twice on my Suzuki and ounce on my SSR. I for one don't like the tire plugger have heard too many story that they will leak if not done properly, for me I have used the plug sticks ( I call them gummy sticks) and never had to re-do the tire.

I carry a small compressor and "gummy sticks". While I've never needed them on the street, they've served me well during muddier pasttimes...

My dealership told me not to use Ride On, but I'm going to get it anyway. I have a little tire compressor and thinking of getting a plug kit just in case. Planning on some long roads trips this summer and want to be prepared.

Yeah, it still loses pressure...I had the ride-on put in around fall time...but I have checked the pressure and it is down a little...the bike is in a garage and it gets cold in there, so, temp changes will still affect the pressure...

The ride-on sits on the inside of the tire...I don't think it seals anything around the edges, if that is what you are referring to...this also means that the ride-on is only good for punctures on the 'bottom' of the tire, not the sidewall...
