• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

Just bought a new Gerbing heated vest. OK to connect wiring harness to battery terminals under seat or directly to battery instead?
Thanks!

I'd probably want to take it back to the battery itself...
Folks have been having TONS fo fun with those connections under the seat for years! :yikes:
(You just can't get a wrench to where you need it the most! :gaah:)

Yes, use the hot brass nut with red cover, but do not loosen the "ground" nut on right side as its nearly impossible to re-tighten. I drilled a small hole in the frame and screwed the ground to that. Worked for the 3 years I owned the '11.

Battery..!!

best is direct to the battery. You have the fuse inline and this will give you a solid connection. For some reason the jumper ground connection nut is not tacked to the frame so if loosened or removed the nut will dissapear and getting a wrench in there is near impossible...

I just had my dealer install a waterproof aux. fuse box under the seat. Makes it easier to install electrical accessories. Not only waterproof, but adjustable amps, no fuses. If you trip one, you can reset it. Tom :trike:

AUX. LINE

If you don't have an aux.fuse box.......go to the auto parts store and buy a single inline fuse / in a holder ( they come in different size fuses ) and put this in the line frrom the vest to the Batt...........Mike

I installed mine directly to the battery with an inline fuse. This also allows me to connect a battery tender to it for charging up the battery.

Thanks!

Thanks for all the good information... Now one more question... How much Tupperware has to be removed to get to the battery? Hard to do?
