• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

quirks our pets have

lets see if we can figure out our animals, not wives guys, dogs and cats

my girls, 2 ****z su poodles have many quirks. my older one, cindi, likes to toss all the pillows off the couches, she also only eats when she wants to, she almost never barks but has one bark that will make me jump when she does it. in the mornings she likes to sleep on my chest, i sleep in a recliner. at night she likes to sleep by herself, either in a bed i have for them, or on the couch with her head buried under one of the pillows and on her back with her legs up in the air. she also uses that bark if she wants fresh water. i could of just changed it, but if she wants new water she will not drink. she is 5

now we come to my mindi, she is 3 and a whole story by herself. since the day i got her she has been a strange dog. she must of been a abused puppy because she is afraid of everything, and hates everyone except me and cindi. she barks at everything and will not train. i had 2 trainers try to calm her down, but it didn't work. she won't walk on a leash and only likes to sit in the front window and bark at anything that moves. she even barks at the wind if she is out in it. 2 habits they both have is, after they eat, they have to wipe their face on a couch or covered chair, the other one is at night they like to role on their back and rub back and forth, but they both growl when they do it. it's the cutest thing when you watch it.
ok lets hear about yours, we all love to talk about our pets...

An interesting subject for me. Most everyone knows I now have two cats. My eldest (13) passed away slightly less than nine months ago.

Currently I have one male Sammy, 7 years, and one female, Princess, about 5 years old. All are shelter rescues. Sammy came to me as a feral cat and was afraid of everything and everybody. The Princess came to me a frost bite victim and missing her tail, half of each back leg, and the tops of her ears. She looks a little rough around the edges but has the sweetest personality of any cat that I have had as a pet.

Sammy had a fit when I introduced Princess to the household. He howled and chased her around for a couple weeks. She would head for my lap for protection. Cinnamon watched the whole process from the top of the kitchen cabinets above the refrigerator. We bought some kind of a soothing air freshener at the pet store and it worked.

In the four years they have been together, he has become her friend and of course now considers himself the Alpha cat. Princess lets him get away with it and gives him a face lick once in a while.

When Princess decides its time to eat and goes on the move towards the feeding station, Sammy has to get up from whatever he is doing and tries to herd her in another direction. She just pushes her way through to complete her mission.

Sammy has appointed himself the bathroom monitor. Whenever someone goes in that direction he immediately follows and wants to be pet while the room is in use. When Princess goes in, he waits for her to complete and covers anything she does not. She has a problem so Sammy makes it good.

Princess likes to follow me around and likes it best when I am at the desk on the computer. She has to be lifted up and sits on the desk and watches. At night, the Princess wants her "spot" next to me near the pillow.

Sammy now joins her on the desk and I am always trying to see the screen through his blocking attempts. He also follows me around these days since big brother is no longer with us. Sammy has now become very demanding. He comes to me and starts to meow and move his lips telling me its time for a treat. He will keep it up until he and the Princess get one.

The morning routine for Sammy starts near the break of dawn. He comes up the cat steps next to the bed, stands on the top one, and starts meowing to wake me up so that I will give them fresh food for the day. I have learned to ignore him and they get fed when I decide to get up. He may make three or more attempts some days. The Princess takes it all in and is watching from the couch or the floor where she can keep an eye on me. She is the first one to the trough when she sees its time.

Its all a daily game that keeps me entertained.

We've always had dogs with really great personalities...
(They must get that from the Missus!)
TinkerBell is a creature of absolute habit. You can just about set a watch by her routine.
Our Ozzy (The Pug), was about like an eight year-old boy on a sugar rush.. He needed a firm "hand on the wheel", but was always agreeable to it's stewardship.
Our Scottie (The Scottish Terrier), didn't really care what you wanted; he was always okay with it. He had the most desire to please us. He was a very intuitive pet. He often knew what we needed, before any direction was given, and he'd already be trying to accomplish what he seemed to know was necessary.

We've been very lucky with ALL of our Pets. We miss our lost ones every day, and rejoice with the one that we have...

dogs are wonderful friends/companions... I have 2 mini Schnauzers.... Jolie (left) & Harlie (right)... they are 4 years old (1 month apart).. Jolie is as docile as they come... Harlie is a "pepper" they both love each other... .. they love to sit on the sun porch and watch for squirrels in my pecan trees.. when they spot one... they both "sing" (I call it singing because they do it in high pitch voices ) .. a couple of months ago they were in the fenced in back yard, when the mail person delivered a certified package.. they started their (singing) the postal person asked .. "what are they doing" i answered... well, they are singing because they are happy to see you... she said.. well, thats a first .. I never heard dogs sing before.. !!! at night they both love to lay on my lap .. Harlie likes to watch TV, and when she sees any animals she attacks the TV.... Jolie just likes to lay on my lap and sleep... man, I sure love my 2 little pups ...

My husband and I have 3 dogs. Molly (Golden doodle), Abby (Bug), and Dixie (Jug). Each one has their own unique personality and quirks. Molly is the most intelligent (scary intelligent) but she will only drink clean, filtered water with ice. At 10pm every night, she is standing in front of me waiting to go out and go to bed....there's no deterring her. Abby barks at EVERYTHING and is terrified of anything that sounds like gun shots (thunder, fireworks, loud motorcycles), and Dixie is our laid back and chill sweetheart. They also know that when my husband is out of town, they get to sleep with me and they are there waiting by the bed when this "wondrous" event happens. I could go on and on but it all boils down to the fact that they are like our children and we love each one dearly.

Do you see a quirk here
Cindi and Mindi :roflblack:

My dogs like to ride. When I pull out my helmet they run to the Spyder
My older on ,Fox , will out her head on my shoulder and whimper if its time for a potty stop
They clean each other like cats and Fox will kick dirt on her poop just like a cat
They hate water and will not step in a puddle even if its just wet dirt

I am watching my daughters new Dachs/Bull dog mix growing , long distance, via pics and vids and they are a hoot. So far the cutest is the little boy and girl will flatten out stcking their heads under the sofa at oppisite ends and bark at each other..tails a waggin.

So what would you all call this breed...??
