• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

Hey i just noticed that the rivets on my muffler shield are loose and making a ton of noise when i take off or come to a stop. What can i do about this? Should I take the heat shield off or can i have a spot weld put on the rivet heads?

Classic Hindle..................you can fix it, but in the future sometimes you don't get what you pay for.

I guess it is a good thing i didnt fork out the $$$ for it. It was on the spyder when i purchased it! I guess i will come up with a fix one of these days!

effing Hindle

Loose rivets on my Hindle ...took the heat shield off ... it finally bew the rivets for the can itself so i will be making a home made can this week ... lots of good ideas out there ... i will post pics and video with sound when I can ... should be able to get out under 75-100 dollars with what i want to do.

All you need to get is a bottle of Loc-Tite super glue. Put a little on the rivits and the rattling is gone. I had to put some on mine when I first got it and that has been over a year ago and so far so good...........

I just removed the loose rivets and replaced them with 1/8 inch x 1/2 inch steel rivets. Worked on my bike and my wife's. Takes about 1/2 hour including muffler removal.

Which Loctite super glue, need a product number as their are several formulations that they sell and I noticed that some are not recommended for exterior use. Thanks in advance!

take the pop rivets out and put stainless steel ones back in...not the ones with aluminum heads,,they have to be all stainless...i lost a heat shield in the hampton tunnels in virginia because of the wrong pop rivets

Here's what I do..!!

I drill out the rivets, run a 6 mm tap trough the support and put bolts in.... Works great and never come loose..well at least till now 18,000 miles...
