• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

Any Canuks who use Rotella T6 15W-40, it's on sale next week at Can Tire in the 18.9L pail for CAN$170 and there's an additional $40 off via a prepaid Mastercard so that brings the price down to CAN$33 for a 4.7L oil change. That's 4 changes in a bucket. Even if you don't want to bother with the rebate it's still only CAN$40 a change.

Walmart still has it beat at 26.43/ gal without any need for a rebate. plus a change usually takes about 5.2L when you include filling the filter on the 1330's.
Plus, I don't know if I would want a pail sitting around with a broken seal for as long as it would take to go through 4 changes. It's going to pick up a lot of contaminants while it's waiting for you.

US$26.43 is CAN$36.57 a US gallon which is 3.78L. At that rate, 5USG (18.9L pail) = US$132 or in Canuk bucks CAN$183. The US$ price for the Can Tire oil (not counting the mail in rebate) which I agree is a pia is US$24.40 a USG so it's still a bit cheaper.
As for buying bulk, once I open the pail I'll put a garbage bag over the cover to keep crap out of it and it'll be in a shed I don't often go into.
When I initially changed mine I thought it took exactly 5L but I do believe that's slightly overfull (trying to read that cursed dipstick is a pia) so I'm more inclined to think 4.7L is the correct amount.
