There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. I traded for my Spyder July 2021 , the guy told me it was an RT ... I was at a local Can-Am Dealership yesterday , asking about highway pegs for my spyder , not only was the guy Rude , but I swear I think I knew as much about this bike as he did . . and he was just Rude as H#ll he said you dont even know what you have ??? well.... I tryed to stay calm , but I said how would I know ??? he said do you have Tags and Ins. on it ?? I said of course , he said let me see the Ins. paper ... I took out the papers and gave it to him , he typed the numbers in his computer and almost throwed the paper back at me and said its not an RT ... its a RTS ! ..... Soooooooo I know there is a lot of things I dont know , and I have looked online and have never found anything that tells the difference in a RT and RTS . i'm sure some of you folks know more about this than Me ... and I'm pretty sure More than the Pri#k at the Dealership too. , I would like to know what makes it an RTS .. and what the S stands for . and I will NEVER......EVER ... EVER go back into that Dealership again . thats really bad for the Name....... and the Business . thank you in advace for any help with this , and I Love my Spyder .

Not sure if the "S" stands for "Sport" or "Special", but looking through some of the brochures, the S has a few niceties over the base model, the Limited ("L") has a few more niceties over the S.

What year is your Spyder?

:agree: there are way to many A -holes out there today ..... The Spyder ..." RT " is the starting bike in the " RT " model line the " S ", is an upgrade ... the " L " or LTD is another and now the " Sea to Sky " is also an up-grade ..... jmho ..... Mike

mine is a 2011 , only had bearly over 13,000 on it when I got it , I put a little over 3,000 on it , before cold weather here in East Tn.... i sure do Thank you .

There is no longer an 'S' model for 2022. Only RT Base, RT Limited, and Sea To Sky. I'm pretty sure the S stood for special.

Just a little heads-up for the future. The Forum is still encouraging everyone to include the Spyder Year and Model in your Signature. If you need any help just ask.
Enjoy your Ryde Time. ....... : )

Like Mike said, the RT was the base. The RTS added a few extra features like fog lights and carpet in the trunk I think, a bit of Crome and more color options if I remember. The RTL added “more” chrome, non clear fog lights lenses, GPS, stitching etc. As for frame and body work, I don’t believe any difference on the SE5 RT/RTS/RTL. You were just asking for highway pegs. Those pegs I believe would have fit any of the RT series. I might be wrong, I know more about the 14+ SE6, but it really shouldn’t have mattered about highway pegs. The mounts would have been the same. The year would have been more important than model, in my opinion, as in SE5 or SE6. Don’t sweat it. You’ll learn all about your machine and order from the venders on the site next time. They’ll be more than happy to answer your questions. Heck half of them you can call and someone answers the phone. Most are better made and cheaper with free shipping.

In addition to the items listed above, the RTS also has an onboard air pump for the suspension. In 2011 the ride could be changed with the button on the dash. The RT did not have an air pump and had a valve under the seat to adjust suspension. It is always better to do your research or ask questions before you go to a dealership. I make it my mission to know more about the bike that I am going to look at or own than the dealership. That way I know if they are trying to screw me in some way. When the F3 model came out in 2015 I had a dealer try to tell me that the base model still had the V-Twin engine. I just walked away and let him believe he was right. The shop I will talk to, but not the salesmen.

wow , thank you all , its really nice to have a group of folks than know what they are talking about to ask or read what you have said about other folks questions . very nice. Thank you all ,

Of course those of us who have the RTS really know that the S was added to mean SPECIAL for us only. Just kidding. I tend to agree with the rest on the assessments of the differences. Look at it this way-you have an upgraded RT that you didn't know you had. Enjoy!

I have a 2015 RTS/SM6. It has an air suspension switch on the dash with pictures of shocks for more or less shock adjustment. There's also a fill valve under the seat. I assume the dash switch is for the front shocks and the fill valve under the seat is for the rear shock? I'm just getting the hang of riding my spyder after several years away from riding. So far so good. My immediate plans are: Tri axis handlebars, lower windshield, Baja Ron swaybar, magic mirrors, Ultimate backrest, La Monster foot pegs, and ? Tires, etc. are also on the list as $ allows. Any upgrade suggestions are appreciated. The Spyderlovers sight is great.

Thanks in advance.

The difference, as I know it, between RT and RT-S is a few "upline" things.

Chrome colored plastic extra badges on saddle bags, and maybe the fronts. Fog (driving) lights included. Cruise included in the package. I think that is about it.

All three of my RT's were upline, never bought the base model. 2010 RTS (premier edition)...loaded to the gills from the get go. 2011 RT-A&C (audio and convenience pkg)....came with radio, cruise and driving lights. 2014 RT-S the first 1330 model. All the bells and whistles except for real chrome and garmin, which the L version had.

Look up Baldwin Iron Works. They have a nice set of pegs for RT's (maybe others too) and are the least expensive available.:2thumbs:
