• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

Run Flat Tires

Run-flats (I think!) need to have a wheel with a bead that is specifically designed for them; don't they? :dontknow:

I know vehicles like our past BMW's that came with run flats could have non run flats installed on them with no problem. I thought it also worked the other way but I won't bet the farm on it. I believe some Goldwing owners that went to the dark side used run flats on their stock rims. I think the problem for us is that there just aren't any sizes available.

Thanks! I wasn't sure if a special rim was necessary; I just thought that I had read something about it once... :dontknow:

rft's use regular wheels it's pax tires that need special wheel. i would never put rft's on my bike and currently won't own a car with
them. rft's are more expensive, harder ride, stiffer sidewall which causes more bends, cracks & bubbles in tire & wheel.

Had RFs on my BMW Z4 and took them off. They tramline terribly and produce a harsh ride. They also tend to fail by bubbling or balloon on the sidewalls. I just can't imagine how badly a Spyder would handle with them. A better idea is to carry a tire repair kit including plugs, slime, and an inflator.

I ran a RF on the rear of my Goldwing for about 75,000 miles and had one on it when I sold it. Did not need a special rim, TPMS nor did I catch on fire. It is a very sensitive subject in the Goldwing world.
