Run for the Wall and gift for the Old man

friends with mgstdoc we did a ride in Germany last year. He recommended this forum to find a solution or two for these two hurdles I need to overcome.

Looking for a good pre-owned Spyder for my Dad. I am currently stationed overseas and want to buy a spyder for my old man so we can go on the run for the WALL together. I am planning on shipping my Harley back to the states and riding with him in 2011 on the Run for the Wall in May 2011. I have two problems. I need to get my bike home and I would like to get my dad on a spyder. Can anyone help with one or both of these problems?

1. Reputable dealer in the Detroit Michigan area.
2. Reputable shipping company from England to Pittsburg or Detroit from North Yorkshire England.

Any help on either of these subjects would be greatly appreciated.:yes:

Mish good to see you signed onto the forum. Alot of good folks here and are willing to help with the spyder thing for your dad.Hope the folks from the big D can help you out with a good dealer.. As for shipping your Harley over so we can hook up and do run for the wall I'll check with the local Harley dealers around town to see if they have any ideas. Folks on Spyderlovers if you have any ideas on shipping his bike from England to the USA please speak up.hyea::2thumbs:hyea::2thumbs:hyea::2thumbs:

Check out Motor City, where Anderson's used to be on Telegraph near Pontiac, ask for Dave, tell him John from Indiana sent you. The dealership has been there for over 45 years, they must be doing something right.

Sometimes I wonder if it isn't cheaper and easier to sell a bike where it is and buy another one when you get to the states. I know it can be a hearbreaker to leave a good bike but my brother had his Triumph shipped over and when we got it out of customs it was a basket case.

They dissassembled the motor and everything. Probably doesn't happen a lot but when it does it's a real pain.

But whichever way you go good luck to you. Great sounding plan to ride with your dad. He'll love the Spyder!
