Ryker Cooling Problem(s)?

Just wondering how often and under what condition(s) your cooling fan comes on. For me...

Conditions: so far (after about 8 months/1500 miles) it seems I notice the fan coming on in slow speed (around 30 mph) stop and go traffic (e.g. around town). I am a bit disturbed by the fact that this also happens even when the ambient temperature is in the low 50's (F), especially if I'm shutting down and starting up frequently (e.g., running errands).

Frequency: every time under the above conditions.

Does anyone know the actual, specific design parameters that control the cooling fan (please cite your sources)?

Anyone using a coolant additive (e.g., Redline Waterwetter)?

Any suggestions for improving cooling/heat dissipation? Transmission blower (e.g., https://www.mtntkperformance.com/products/polaris-rzr-900-trail-900s-1000s)?

And finally, I know there is there a CVT air intake, but is there an exhaust as well, and where? I see on this parts diagram: (https://www.canampartshouse.com/oem...e8796d1f/rotax-transmission-cvt-cover-900-ace) between item numbers 1 and 11, I see a "lattice-like" feature that I suspect might be the outlet.

Once mine warmed up the reading was steady.
A mechanical thermostat controls coolant flow.
An electrical sensor controls fan operation.

The fan operation you described seems quite normal.

I had zero temperature issues running in Las Vegas, NV at temps just under 120F.

I did replace CVT filter more often than recommended.

My fan runs at idle when stopped only when it is quite hot weather - I live in Florida. It has not run at all under 70 degrees F.

Attachments are from the service manual. Pretty easy to check the coolant temperature sensor - I would start there. Start by checking the resistance on a cold engine to see if resistance is in the ballpark - no need to remove the sensor straight away.

Service manuals are available online as pdfs for about $20. Well worth the investment.

Perhaps too efficient. At temperatures below 40o F my display will not rise above 3 bars while riding. If I stop and idle (such as at a traffic light) my coolant temperature will rise and show 5 bars. However, as soon as I start moving the display drops back to three or two bars. I took my Ryker to the dealer and asked if I possibly had a thermostat that was stuck open or partially open. A technician examined it, observed that it reached full operating temperature at idle within 15 minutes from a cold engine, and determined that it was fine. At temperatures above 50o F it maintains 5 bars while riding.
