• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

On a more personal level, what kind of shoes including brand does everybody wear while ryding?

A friend of mine had bought these shoes http://www.revzilla.com/motorcycle/...product&kwd=&gclid=CIL-gtKPurgCFWQ6Qgodgx0Apw yesterday at a local bike shop and they are like sneakers for motorcycle riding.

I usually wear light footwear when local and boots that are heavier when distant driving. But they drive me nuts to walk in. They are boots that I bought through work just before I retired.

I have always worn boots when driving 2-wheelers and :spyder2:'s. Prefer more foot protection rather than less.

That said: here is what I wear.

:ani29:: Engineer style boots. I like the square toes. Have one pair black & one pair brown. Like the harness thingy on the heels and one pair has silver eagles on the toes. Available from most every cycle gear dealer for around $150 or less. I got one pair on sale for $90.

:ani29:: Euro style riding boots. I have one pair of Sivi. They are advertised as waterproof and have that special liner in them. They zip up the side for ease of on/off. Cost about $150

:ani29:: Regular Wellington boots with zippers in the side. Had for many years. Paid about $75.

Dr. Martins short engineers with ankle supports. Super comfortable for riding and walking and they last forever. I got in the habit of wearing these on 2 wheelers, and while I don't see the necessity on a Spyder, they're so comfortable I just keep wearing them.

These look like what Linda is looking for except they don't seem to come in women's sizes. Any of the ladies on here using something similar? It looks and sounds from the description like a high top tennis shoe with protection built in.

Ride safe,

Caterpillar! Got um on sale about 4 years ago. Slip-on hightops, comfortable but a little heavy. Good protection from weather.

Boots

I picked up a pair of hiking boots. They are thinner on top so I can feel the gear shift better, especially when I'm speeding up. If need be, I'll carry a pair of Redwings in the frunk to change into after I arrive at my destination so my feet will be a little cooler.

I wear Gore Tex waterproof boots purchased on shoebuy.com for approx $100. They are tough and waterproof on the outside but lightweight and nearly as comfortable as tennis shoes for walking in. I love them. bought an extra pair for future in case they discontinue them

I usually wear Propels (Zappos), but have worn sandals on occasion. I wear either my Propels or low topped boots on a two wheeler….

I wear and love ......

I wear RTS-Ariat shoes. Genuine leather, over the ankle, rubber soled shoes as recommended by my MSF instructor.

Love them!
;)

I wear boots. wether my combat boots like I did while ryding to work in San Diego, and now, or a pair of hiking boots. always wear something for ankle protection. dress for the wreck, as they say.

Change is coming

looks like i will need to adapt i wear sneakers. but i think i should change to boot with the extra benefit of water proof.
