• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

Situation Report for Uly at 1100 Miles - HAPPY CAMPER

Great fun, an absolute joy to ride... no codes, minor events.

  • The immersive gasoline smell has been significantly reduced. It seems one day I scraped on a speed bump (I remember the incident) and knocked the hose off the Evap canister. The tech, on my 600 mile service, identified and resolved that problem.
  • Once, when starting the engine, I noticed that the LED screen went blank (white background and black vertical stripes). The situation resolved and did not repeat. Sometimes, when starting, the starter motor and gear engagement sound “different”. The tech, at the 600 mile service found loose battery connections. Connections tightened and the behaviors have not repeated.
  • Also, on 600 mile service, they did the heat mitigation recall and replaced my Heim links.
  • I switched over to BRP full synthetic rather than the blend; I'll be running full synth from now on.

One the road, at 35 or 75, she runs hot, straight and normal... like a torpedo. It feels as if I could let go of the handlebar grips and cruise forever. No hunting, wandering, etc.

I put the IsoGrips for the Goldwing on Uly because my hands are so big. I turned on the grip heaters by accident... the grips became uncomfortably warm. It was 59 one morning and was riding in the shape of some trees for a few miles. Even on low, the grips were too warm; I would turn them off for a while and then back on. No idea what they would be like if it was 40 degrees- I suspect that they would be at least adequate.

I get a lot of compliments on the Circuit Yellow color.

So, no gripes at all. Uly is running great. No codes, no concerns, no regrets, no second thoughts. She is a winner! So glad I'm a Spyder RT-S owner.

And I truly believe you will find that to be the "rule" viz a viz the "exception". Admittedly there will be a few blips, but nothing of major concern. At least that's been my case.

Glad to hear this:yes::yes:

Like you only a few isues that have been taken care of and the ST is running great:clap:

Good to hear..!!

glad to hear from the other side. Sad that some are great and some have heat issues and no one has figured out why. We need more from your side enjoying your ryde. It is tough though, makes the unfortunate ones feel worse but I feel the 2013's (all of them) are getting nothing but bad reviews and it is a good machine. Jmo..!! :thumbup:

I've got over 9,000 miles on my 2013 RT-Ltd. When it's above 80 degrees out, my right foot gets warm but it's tolerable. Other than the recall, I've had no other issues. I'm due for another oil change and I'm also going to have the dealer put on a new Kumho rear tire.

I really like my Spyder and I ride it every chance I get.

I see no need to trade it in on a 2014 RT. I'll wait a couple of years.

My 2010 has always been a great ride with no issues at all. Everytime I ride it I am suprised at how good it runs. I just got Lamont to do the lazer alignment (I started a tread on it) and it is better than ever. I would love the new 2014 but I have decided to wait at least till the '15's come out next year. I'm just too happy with what I have to get rid of it.
