• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

Spyder 0 to 60 times

The F3 is 4.8 secs., and the RS/GS is 4.5 (at least for my 2008).

I didn't realize how slow the RT was, with the twin.

I must have a factory freak cause I swear my RT does 0-60 way faster that what that site says... time for some measurements I guess...

My car does it in 4.0 flat and the spyder seems like it is pretty evenly matched.

The Rt won't do anything close to a 4 sec 0-60 time. But you can dream.

These Spyders are not that fast. The quickest 0-60 time I've been able to do in my car is 5.2 sec. It feels to me like it pulls a lot harder than the Spyder, but I could be wrong. I need to run them together but it's kind of hard to operate both at the same time.

One thing I do know is from 80-120 my car will crush my Spyder.

Here is a challenge for you hot rod Spyder riders.

On paper our Spyders will do a 4.3 sec 0-60.

I'm betting there are very few of us that can get our Spyders to perform at that level.

Go out and do some 0-60 runs and report back here. I'm not going to because I already know I'm around 6 sec.

I've looked at my old brochures, and I only see 4.5. Did you see it somewhere on the internet?

My bad wyliec, you are correct. I saw 4.3 somewhere and started using that number but 4.5 is correct. But in my defense, 4.3 just sounds better than 4.5.

Never had anyone beat me off the line at a stoplight on the RSS or the F3. Some have tried... I saw them in my mirror.

What's the secret to a fast start?
...Cheating better than the guy that you're lined-up against! :D
You have to leave while putting down as much power as you can; without breaking traction.
Your upshifts should be right at the point where your next gear puts you right at the torque peak...

There are a number of factors that determine 0-60. The condition of the machine, the weight and skill of the rider, and atmosphere.

When you see numbers from manufacturers they are more suspect than independent sources like Motorcycle.com. They will certainly get better numbers with a 100 lbs. jockey than a 250 lbs. linebacker. Look at the Moto GP riders, they are all pencil thin.

where did that info come from? my f3 is faster and quicker than my rss ever dreamed of being!!

That number for the F3 came directly from Lamont. If you think it's wrong, shoot him a P.M.

Here it is, post number #8:
http://www.spyderlovers.com/forums/showthread.php?79899-GS-vs-F3-question

The weight of the F3 is quite a bit more than the 2008 GS. Based on the BRP marketing book, I got when I purchased my 2008 (new), was the weight of the 2008GS was 630#, and the F3 is listed at 850#. I personally haven't ridden the F3; but, there have been plenty of posts where someone with an RS/RSS has test ridden one, and they say their RS/RSS is quicker (off the line).

4.76 for my 2012 RS. I used attached 1/8 time & 1/8 mph to figure my 0-60. My time slip did not provide 0-60.
