• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

Spyder Broke - My Faulting Troubleshooting Proceduress

2021 RT is now at the dealer awaiting further diagnosis. I have owned the bike since March of this year, and a couple of weeks ago, I took it out for the first time in temperatures above 95°. When I went under 20mph, I got a high temp indication and a message - High Engine Temperature, which would go away above 25mph. I checked that the fans were running and the coolant level was good. I decided to try to duplicate the problem 2 days ago, and it was still there. The dealer was having a free pancake breakfast today and I called the dealer yesterday and asked if they could check it out - they said no problem. They took it in and duplicated the problem, the only thing that I did not check was the temperature of the radiator, which they did, and it was cool to the touch, hence no circulation. Pretting embarrassing to me that after over 30 years of troubleshooting complex electronic problems I failed to think the issure through. They did a history on the bike and they had replaced the water pump in Aug of 2024. So now it is setting at the dealers awaiting further diagnosis. Since the water pump is not even a year old the obviouse culprit is the thermostat. However, the problem did not occurr until the outside temprature was over 90, unless you let it idle for a long period of time. Rode it down to the dealer who is over 20 miles away, temprature was in the mid 70's and through town without an issue so it could be a faulty water pump. Since it is under warranty I'll let the dealer do the work.

The coolant is in a short loop excluding the radiators until the engine warms up then the thermostat opens the path for coolant to go to the radiators. Sounds like you have a stuck thermostat.

Contrary to whomever completley changed the title of this post I do not need any assistance. This post was not asking for help it was just stating a fact that I messed up my trouble-shooting procedures by not checking that the radaitor was cool to the touch whle the engine coolant was hot. The fault component is either the thermostat or the water pump. Given that the water pump was replaced in Aug of 2024 it should indicate that the thermostat is the issue. Since the bke is under warranty I'lll let the dealer handle it.
