• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

Start up RPM

Hi all,

My F3S at start up jumps to anywhere from 2300-3000 rpm. I thought this was a bit much for a cold engine and called a local platinum dealer. The rep told me that this was somewhat normal....

what at do you think.? He did say that mother BRP was well aware of the vibration issue but nothing is coming out to address it in the near future.... Said I should look at an aftermarket tensioner

My 2014 RT with the same engine [1330] starts up at 1100 - 1200 RPM and then drops quickly to 900 RPM
I would check with more dealers

Both of ours do the same, have the same concerns with dry bearing start ups. Was told by two dealers that all F3 do it. I guess that to ensure premature engine damage is not being done is to do oil analysis at every oil change and I will be changing my oil every 5000 miles. Maybe if we all called BRP customer with our concerns they might figure out that they may have a issue?

:agree: My RT starts up like this as well; I don't know of any reason why an F-3 should be any different. :dontknow:
