• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

Starting my Toy Hauler Research - considering replacements for our travel trailer?

Just starting the process of considering a toy hauler vs. a larger travel trailer/5th wheel to replace our 22’ travel trailer. Merging a couples trailer and a toy hauler for a 22 Spyder RT and a 650lb BMW R1200RT.

Not eliminating a bumper pull toy hauler but not sure of having all that weight in the back of the trailer so I’m thinking more of a 5th wheel.

Tow vehicle wise I’m in good shape with a ‘22 Ram 3500 6.7 HO diesel supposedly at 23K max tow and 3940 payload according to the door jam sticker. On the down side it’s a shortbed and not a dually so I’d like to stay at 12k-14k lb gross trailer weight.

Any suggestions?

You may find difficulty getting a toy hauler/camper large enough to accommodate both a spyder & a 2 wheeler.

Good Luck  Bill

We have a Momentum 23g and it holds our 2022 RT Limited and can also hold the RT622 trailer. With some careful positioning, you could probably fit the Spyder and the BMW, but it would be tight. Ours is a bumper pull and its total weight is around 11,500-12,000 when loaded. I have a F350 SRW and it pulls without any issue. Interestingly, when we first got it, I had a Ram 1500 and thought I could decrease tongue weight a little by loading the Spyder closer to the rear of trailer, but it made no difference on the tongue weight. Honestly, with or without the Spyder changes the tongue weight very little. The toy haulers are designed heavy from the beginning and loaded or not doesn’t change much but the overall weight. Happy to do a FaceTime tour of ours if you’d like.

My thought is that I need something with D-Rings far enough into the kitchen to get the two wheeler in place and tied down, then the Spyder straight in, into the regular “garage area”.
