• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

Maybe we can get an idea at least on this board how big the issue is or isn't.
I'm not talking about parking brake recalls or anything like that. I'm talking about you having a problem (that you didn't cause) that caused you to have to take it to the dealer to have it fixed under warranty.

I'm afraid if I answer it'll jinx me--

Spyder PE #2929 is one year and one week old:

Nope. No repairs.

EDIT--just voted the proper way.

not one year yet, 13000 miles, going in next week for parking brake fix that's all. I am well pleased with my spyder:clap:

2008 SE5, 7000 miles. Transmission and parking brake "fix", neither one needed but was free. Transmission shifted better after, parking brake was worse. Sprayed the key/spring on the parking brake, now works flawlessly. Ryde On!

Just got my 08 SM5 repaired at the dealer just before the Brattleboro Banner Run. The front suspention was squeaking. I put 2000 miles on it and only have driven it for a couple months. Got it last Nov, had it broken in by the time Winter came. The squeaking started this Spring. It originally went in for a lube to the bushings, but turns out the right shock and bushings were shot.

I weigh in at 280 pounds and I ride it hard. I had the front springs on the stiffest setting when this happened, but since backed them down. Anyone else have front suspention problems? I know it should be ok to have the shocks up high according to the owners manual. I have to figure it is a weight issue. At 280, I use up more than half of the recommended max weight for that machine, but those are usually set low. When my girl is on there we are way over the 440 limit. I would like to know if this has happened to anyone who has not had more than 440 pounds on the machine. :dontknow:

Went back in today...somebody just had to ask "How's that Spyder running?" It was really acting crazy today shortly after leaving work. I am on 2 wheels again.:banghead:

Got my PE millenium yellow SM5 back in 11/07 and I am a very satisfied Spyder owner. No troubles or problems since it was delivered to my door. I got the red SE5 in 08/09 and it has not given me any malfunctions either. (knock on wood..)

Sorry to hear about that.

Just once for my SM5. Burned up one and a half exhaust seals / gaskets by 6,000 miles.

While mine has only been in the shop once for a warranty repair and that is the answer I selected I should also note that for 3 of the issues I had I didn't really feel like taking it down to the dealer and did the fix myself. The fist was the typical relay issue which is a simple deal and then when my exhaust gasket went I decided to do that one as well and I also didn't feel like taking it to the shop for the battery problem I had and did that on my own. So all in all it could have been 4 times in the shop.

Mine has been in a handful of times but I always have it back in a timely manner. I have had the instrument cluster replaced, the gear position sensor replaced as well as the parking brake repaired and the brake squeal taken care of, all under warranty. I am very pleased with my spyder and wouldn't trade it in for the world.

What was the instrument cluster failure?

Currently in the shop for an EBD fault code; Abs Fault and Dps fault. BRP hs insisited on trying the Angle sensor to see if this will fix the Spyder.

 waiting to see.

Parking brake fixed after BRP sent out the info. In the shop for a 2nd or 3rd time due to "brake failure" sensor. Shop insists that there is an air bubble in the brake lines but they also had to disassemble the back half of the bike to repaint. Somehow brake fluid mysteriously ate up the paint on the frame. They don't know how it happened but they are sure it is not because of a leak in the brake system. :dontknow:

Then I gotta change my vote from Yes SM5 to No Never. I counted the parking break recall. Only time I brought it in for a "repair".

You may have the leaky master cylinder caps, mine are weeping...I let them know this...it's a recall.
